Q: I've read that i shouldn't add salt to beans before cooking, i'm not sure that's true. should i add this seasoning before or after cook?

I learned about Goya Ham Seasoning from Weight Watchers many years ago as a replacement for fat and salt when cooking or seasoning vegetables. I always add it before cooking fresh veggies or just to season when reheating. A little bit goes a long way. I use one pack for a whole pot of veggies. You can adjust to your taste.

Q: what is the shelf life/best to use by date of this?

I have about 4 boxes of this with the envelopes inside, there is no best by date or any date or numbers on the outside or on the individual envelopes. I did look it up and it says for best results use within 6 months to a year, I have had mine at least a year and the flavor is wonderful.

Q: I have allergy to beef, pork, does this have any in it or made in same area that any beef or products are made?

Part of the "natural flavor" is pork fat.

Can't live without it
