Easy, easy in your hair and great coverage. I colored my hair just two weeks ago with an amethyst hair color (not this products brand) and not only did it fry my hair. It stripped all of the color out of my hair and left it gray annd orange with bright purple roots. This product fixed all of those issues and left my hair feeling amazing. I could not be happier. In the photos below, the first picture was taken just before I colored my hair with the other brand and I did it just to cover my roots. The second photo was taken after coloring my hair with the other brand literally days later and the third photo was taken one day after using this product

It strips off some of the hair color and replaces it with a clear glossy sheen for a shiny look instead of adding peroxide to make it yellow. Is anyone tired of yellow hair? I am.

I read the reviews prior to buying and this product sounded like a boost for my slightly faded hair color My color is a warmer dark blonde/light brown and with this gloss application I’m not sure I noticed any difference? I followed the instructions and left on my hair for exactly 20 minutes. I was concerned that it was going to be thin and runny because the directions have all sorts of caution around clean up. It mixed well and was a thick consistency like regular hair color I have used in the past few decades. It says that it won’t cover gray hair - I can attest that it didn’t cover my new gray growth, but I bought this for shine. A tip for those who mention the dry feeling. I saw those remarks so I was prepared to condition as you would if you were coloring. As soon as I did this I had no issues with damage or dryness. I used a Joico for color conditioner after a light shampoo while in the shower. This is obviously a chemical so I anticipated potential dryness or just thicker feeling prior to shampooing. I don’t think I would buy it again as I really don’t notice any boost to what my color looked like prior to using. The smell is like rubbing alcohol. Very faint and not nearly as strong as some hair dyes.

Really tamed my frizz and smoothed everything down nicely. I let it air dry but if it was blown out I think it would be great.

This is my first time using a semi permanent hair gloss that required two steps. I tried a couple of drugstore so-called glosses and they literally dried my hair out like straw, turned it an ugly dark mud brown despite what the container showed the color was supposed to be and made it duller than it was to begin with. Not this gloss! OMG! I've been searching for a product to help improve the condition of my hair while my body adjusts to coming off of prednisone which basically ruined all my hair and turned it into dry, brittle, dull straw. I followed the directions exactly and allowed it to sit on my hair for 20 minutes. I then lightly shampooed it and went from there. My hair actually feels like it did before I ever went on Prednisone! Even though I used the clear gloss, it still toned done all the brassiness out of my hair and turned it back to my natural deep, rich auburn. It was like it knew what my hair needed and automatically fixed it! I had hoped for it to make my hair shinier and healthier looking but this was a completely unexpected side benefit! I highly recommend Kristen Ess Signature gloss to ANYONE as long as you choose your correct color (if you decide not to choose the clear). After one use I am completely sold on this product and will continue to use it regularly!

I had high hopes for this gloss but was disappointed. The shine boost is very subtle and barely noticeable on my hair, even after following the instructions carefully. It also felt a bit sticky and weighed my hair down instead of leaving it feeling soft and light. While it might work for very fine or color-treated hair, it did not deliver the results I expected. For the price, I expected a much more noticeable shine and smoothness. I would not repurchase.

Had no idea when I bought this that this gloss and tortoise shell gloss had been discontinued. I would’ve bought a couple of them. Golden hour has been my go-to for years, I really liked the slight warmth. With the new Kristin Ess lineup there are zero glosses that are for warm blondes now.
