Save big bucks - get it here and replace the filter yourself - Great deal.
Great price. Save some big bucks like others. We had a 19 year old fnsp60 with a crack in the base. Whoever said that if you fix a crack in a pool filter just buys you time, they were correct. I fixed a 1/4" crack in our old one with marine epoxy.2 weeks later it split to about an inch and started leaking badly - then I installed more epoxy and put some of that wonder tape over it. Each time, I repaired it from the inside. The 2nd patch lasted about a week and I had a 6 inch crack on the base and flooded 1/3 of my backyard. This one is really nice. My old one had fiberglass flakes so you had to have gloves on any time you handled it. The new one doesn't have the annoying fiberglass flakes that can get into your skin. All I did to replace this was to unscrew the 2 joints going into the old filter. I luckily had one of those "Jaw" type of oil filter wrenches and it fit perfectly over the union mount to unscrew it to get the old one out, and screw it back into the new filter. The new one lined up exactly at the same height as my old one so all I had to do was to slide it into place and screw the unions back on.I used plumbers tape at all joints, including the pressure relief valve and pressure valve.I screwed the pressure gauge into the pressure relief valve, then screwed the pressure relief valve on to the upper cover. To adjust the angle of the face of the gauge, I held onto the valve and unscrewed the gauge a little until I could easily see the gauge (instead of the gauge facing the house).I did make a mistake, though, and didn't replace to big O-rings in the unions so my lower union is now leaking a bit - but that's my fault for being lazy. Just mentioning that so you don't make the same mistake as I.I was a little intimated before I did this, but I'd removed the top from my old one (DE Leaks, Replaced the entire grid assembly, fixing the cracks) so I knew there wasn't very much to this filter in terms of complexity or number of pieces and parts. It's 80 pounds and bulky, so I did have to get help from my wife and daughter to lift it over the pipes into the final location of the filter.By the way, I ordered this on a Wednesday. Amazon said it'd be there Monday, but it actually arrived early on Friday, so it took less than 2 days to arrive after I ordered it.

So relieved!
I just replaced my original FNS 60 pool filter after it failed about the only way these things ever fail - it got 18 years old and got a crack in the fiberglass that eventually ripped all the way up the side and gushed water everywhere. The only challenge in installing this thing is its weight and size. Except for me my old filter was so old the plumbing inlet and outlet was an inch higher than on this new one. Rather than redo all the plumbing I just put some inch thick pavers under it. This filter doesn't move or vibrate, it just fills with water and sits heavily on the concrete. Still probably the easiest setback I've dealt with in any of my DIY repairs and replacements. It comes fully assembled such that most anyone could probably install it in less than 30 minutes, but I took the time to open the filter just to see if the filter screens were properly seated and all that. Everything was OEM brand and looked great in there. So many improvements from my ancient pool filter.

over pressure split it open like a water melon)
Wow, is all i can say it worked right out of the box and only really took me and a neighbor a couple hours tip to tail in switching this out. I was replacing my old Pentair FNS Plus 60 that had literally split in half at the top while on vacation (should have back-flushed before leaving, over pressure split it open like a water melon). Let me explain that this NEW unit is 100% complete ALL the guts are in the box ready to go (No weird IKEA diagrams). Keep in mind this unit sits One inch LOWER than the old style Pentair FNS 60 so you just need to add one inch of gravel soil or concrete to bring the height up to perfect and the old push pull matches up perfect. Be sure to lube the seals at the push pull fitting when you attach then together just to keep everything perfect like you want a pool to be the first time. I did add Teflon tape to the top gauge since we saw a drip of water at the top and tightened the spring clamp a couple tuns as well for the same reason. Ill post more on a follow up review or a video when i do my neighbors filter.

Saved myself some serious money
Great savings! Our old pentair FNS Plus 60 was 15 years old when it sprung a leak in the bottom half of the tank. Quotes from the pool guys (and price on website for Leslie Pool Supply) were around $960. I bought this one from Amazon for $755 (price has since dropped, I see). I used Prime, but the earliest scheduled delivery date was 3 days out. However, UPS dropped it off (without a knock on my door - grumble at UPS) a day earlier than scheduled. I did NOT install it myself; I paid a pool company (Sunrise), but I only had to pay their hourly labor rate of $100/hr. The tech installed the new filter (and replaced a leaking jandy valve) in just under an hour. All the existing plumbing matched up perfectly. All he had to do was unscrew the connections for the old filter, and swap in the new one. The box looked fine on arrival -- it had been opened and re-taped, but I think that's so they could add the plastic bag containing the pressure release valve/gauge and printed material. I would highly recommend.
