oem preferred especially with diesel engines
I totally recommend this oem sensor to any after market , it made my truck start faster and run smoother compared to a after market sensor I bought . The original sensor quit leaving me stranded in the middle of the road for over an hour , I now keep a spare in the glove box but hope ill never need it .

I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS CAM POSITON SENSOR.
THERE ARE A FEW VERY OLD FORD F-250 THAT DON'T USE THIS PART. SOME EARLY F-25O DIESELS USE A DIFFERENT FORD PART. MY F-250 IS A 7.3 LITER DIRECT INJECTION DIESEL MADE IN 1994 WITH A 1995 ENGINE (BY THE FACTORY)MY F-250 IS A "1994 1/2"

Not the blueish Grey sensor as pictured.
So as stated the sensor that I received was completely back. From my understanding their are three variations of this sensor. Grey, black, and blueish/Grey. Doing the research the blueish Grey is the cats meow if your looking to put an oem sensor back on your 7.3l. Its also what was pictured on the site. Well I got the black one instead, it is what it is shipping was fast, true oem. Works as it should just wish I got the one that was pictured and advertised.

KEEP one of these in your Glovebox if you have a Ford 7.3 Superduty Powerstroke
My 2001 F450 7.3 Randomly Died one day. Good thing I know these trucks and I knew exactly what it was, This dang Sensor. They'll randomly just die on you, rough starts or No Start. Swap this out and you're on your way. I have it down to about 7 minutes cause I'm an old Chubby guy. Buy 2 if you're replacing this sensor. One to install and the other for the glove box so you never get stuck on the roadside again. This is the Upgraded - Current one.

fixed
truck would be going along and randomly shutting off. would turn the key off and on really quick and get to where i needed to get. that got old so figured id try this. it was shutting off about every 20 minutes of driving. since installing this haven't had a issue in months.
