Crown Mark Fairfax Home office Desk/Chair Set

Bought this based solely on the style which is not a bad knock-off of the French Imperial/Louis XV period.Package came quickly. Watched the UPS delivery man hoist it on his shoulder, walk across the street and up the 30 foot driveway, and put it down with a little force near my garage. My first thought was that this piece of furniture must be cheap if one man can carry it on his shoulder. When I went out to move it into the garage it felt like it was stuck to the ground, giving rise to my second thought which was that an over zealous UPS driver had damaged my desk.Turns out, this big box was actually two boxes: the manufacturer's box inside another box another box. Each box had had plenty of packing material. The desk and the chair were competely undamaged which is something of a miracle these days.All you have to do to the desk is put on the four legs. The screws actually already had the lock washer and washer on them and these were held on the screw by a small rubber O-ring. Wow! this is unheard of!The chair is only a little more complicated to assemble.Both have some sort of hardwood legs and the desktop, its front and sides are hardwood too.Both pieces look fantastic! My wife, who is using my antique rolltop desk for her Work-From-Home Office, now wants to use this desk, too!Great design, great packaging, great delivery time, great assembly.These days, at this price, for a modern knock-off I can say this writing desk is worth the price. Very pleasantly pleased with this so far. It's going to get a lot of use.

I really love this desk. It is sturdy and I love the look of it. It is the perfect height for me. The chair it came with is attractive, but I use an office chair, because it would not be comfortable to sit on it all day long. It is hard.The desk was easy to put together. This was a replacement because the first one had a tiny hole in the map. It was replaced with no problem. The replacement had a missing drawer pull. When I contacted customer service, I was told I needed to return the desk and chair and they would replace it. I thought that was silly, so I called the manufacturer and they are sending me a replacement drawer pull. They were super nice. I also ordered a piece of glass from a local glass company to fit the to protect the table. The glass top makes it look much more expensive. I enjoy my new space and working from home. Since you get a table and chair it is a fair price. I also ordered the rug on amazon. This new space makes me happy!Update: The company promptly followed through and sent me a new drawer pull. The desk is perfect now.

Attractive in person, and easy to assemble if you have tools at home already. The free tools sent with the desk and chair don't work well. The drawers are not sturdy at all. Part of one drawer broke off while I was attaching one of the front legs. It works well with my decor and the other mahogany color furniture I have. However, I worry about the longevity of this desk. I have a snaking suspicion I will have to replace it within 3-5 years which is not ideal.

I've had this product for more than six months now so I can give it a more accurate review. I'm fully satisfied. I needed a smaller writing table for my library. Something that I or a family memember can sit and open up a book and relax. I had looked at desks that were as much as $1,000. I couldnt find the right size or the right style that I was looking for. I was getting to the point of having one built for about $2400. I didn't want to spend that much but I couldn't find anything. Then I tried Amazon and after reading reviews and other research selected this one. It arrived quickly and everything was in good shape. It was very easy to assemble. The only thing that has come loose was a drawer pull but a few quick turns of a screwdriver got that back to normal. The only thing that is close to being a problem is the left drawer doesn't glide as smoothly as the right. But that is a small inconvenience and the drawer opens up. The chair is nice and the legs are still tight with no wobbles. Very happy with the product.

This is one of the best buys for the money I have made in a long time. I had bought one last year for the bedroom, and I decided I needed another for the living room! It is well made, really pretty, and can be assembled in no time. It basically is just attaching legs. The hardest part is really just turning it over upright once you attach the legs - it is deceptively heavy!I wish it had more drawers. These are shallow & can hold all the basic desk stuff. But more would have made it look like more of an office piece, rather than a graceful piece of furniture.

Saw the desk alone at a random furniture store I stopped into. They had it tucked in the back with an ancient TV on it and it was in bad shape but I'd been desk shopping for several days and this one fit the bill. Then it turned out they would have to order it themselves. So came home and sure enough was able to find it on Amazon. It was delivered yesterday evening and I just put it together in under 30 minutes taking my time, with the easy instructions and all parts included. Could not be happier with it. Very solid construction - this is a heavy desk! The matching chair was a bonus and so far I am liking it.I will get a piece of glass cut to protect the top, and I could wish that it was an inch or two shorter, but other than that I consider this an excellent value for the cost.
