Cover powder only means you cannot see through acrylic once it is on your nail. Cover powder covers nail, core powder covers nail but is translucent

Will this hide imperfections of the natural nail bed for a pink French ombré?

Yes as long as you use the cover powder. The core powder is translucent.

What’s the difference from cover and core?

The cover and core are basically the same, they’re both clear. The core color sets a little slower than the cover. They’re both great for encapsulated nails but as a beginner I like the core.
