Love these, the only type of bird feeders I buy

These platform feeders are very popular with the birds of all types as well as the squirrels and chipmunks (or the occasional raccoon). I love that the bottom grate lifts out for cleaning, the wood sides are a little tough to get clean (I think it's just staining) but otherwise no issues. The grate did keep tipping to one side and pouring all the seed out, I eventually figured out that one of the wood support pieces under the grid had rotated slightly (twisting around the 1 nail used to attach it), allowing the grid to tip. (I blame the fat, gray squirrels). I added a second nail to each support so that it could not rotate and that solved the issue - I had to do it to all of the feeders I've purchased, so I may not be the only one finding this issue. It would not stop me from buying more in the future.

Sturdy and well made. Easy to set up, fill, and clean. The birds love it.

Mesh bottom so easy to clean as mesh lifts out of feeder with touch of hand. Amazing design. Last platform feeder had to take apart which took too much time. Mesh coating will not rust. Great value. Please keep these feeders available! May order extra to have if this one ever wears out, though not sure it will.

The media could not be loaded. A good mix of birds has come to really enjoy this feeder. We have a Nyjer thistle feeder, a suet cake feeder, a bird house style feeder and this platform feeder. We keep black sunflower oil seed in the bird house and this platform feeder. The bird house feeder still gets plenty of traffic, but this platform feeder has become very popular.We do have some squirrels on our property, and have occasionally seen one on this feeder. It hasn't grown into a huge problem yet, but worth noting.When the birds have picked the seed down to the point where only a little bit of seed remains and there is a ton of husks, it is easy to knock all of that out to refill the platform by simply turning it over and giving it a little shake.This platform feeder was inexpensive and we plan on purchasing another at some point down the road to feed even more birds!
