Rectangular Heating Pad

I have had this thing for 8 years and am still using it. It melts away muscle pain; I use it for everything from menstrual cramps to back pain to massaging a charley horse, and it works like a charm every time. Unlike other products on the market, it's heavy and very full of whatever is in it, which makes for superior heat retention. 2 min 15 seconds in the microwave and this thing gets nice and HOT! I appreciate the no-frills design - I don't need a fleece cover or other gimmicks that get between me and my pain relief - and I like that there's an unscented option as I am prone to migraines.

Heating this pad in the microwave gives the perfect amount of moist heat to help relieve knee, neck, back, arm or leg pain. It's soft against the skin and holds heat for a good amount of time. It helps much more than the old traditional plug in ones. It's a good value and quality - Highly recommended

The heating pad itself works well. But the photo of the product with the Velcro strap is misleading. I specifically bought this to be able to strap it in place around my elbow while doing PT exercises, and there was no Velcro strap in the package.

These provide heat and comfort and are very easy to use - just pop them in the microwave and then they'll provide soft heat for quite awhile. UPDATE: Be careful not to zap these in the microwave for too long, which of course is mentioned in the instructions. I gave this to a loved one as a gift, and one time she zapped it in the microwave as she had many many times before, but she's unsure of whether she pushed the right button. She now thinks she absentmindedly pressed a 30-MINUTE heating rather than 30 seconds, but there's no way to know for sure. It took awhile, but eventually this thing became too hot and caused a smoke problem throughout the kitchen. The microwave had to be thrown, and the smoke damage took some time to clean. So there is a danger of overheating, but in my mind this product didn't overheat through "normal" use - in fact, the damage might have been far worse if this product had not been carefully made with fire-retardent materials. Still, I have to relay this caution, and the gift recipient doesn't want to use this product anymore. I have one, and I will still continue to use it - but I remain MUCH MORE CAREFUL to only use the 30-second quick button on my microwave.

This heating pad has gotten me through so much . Two rotator cuff surgery’s , a terrible shingles outbreak that I’m still 6 months in to , and an another tear of the rotator cuff . This heating pad works every time ! I’ve had it for 5 yrs !! The size is perfect because you’re able to localize the heat . I’m going to order another because of how great it is !

This is a very convenient replacement for a hot water bottle. Nice to have something that isn't all plastic and chemicals. It takes just over a minute to get warm in the microwave, and then feels soft and comfortable in bed or elsewhere. It stays warm for long enough to do the job. No noticeable odor, maybe a slight "natural smell" (like seeds or something) if you hold it up to your nose.

I guess this is what I bought, so I’m not sure how to rate it. It’s a soft cloth pouch filled with rice and flax seed. It’s got a bit of an off odor when you heat it, but otherwise it does what it’s supposed to. It’ll stay warm for a decent amount of time (20-30 minutes) and it’s comfortable. I didn’t realize it was rice-filled or I wouldn’t have purchased. If you read the entire description, the contents are listed at the bottom, so it was my mistake - I didn’t read far enough down. I use it in the home office and my wife commented that she thinks “it smells like one of the dogs peed in the office.” Not sure it quite smells that bad, but there’s a distinctive odor and it lingers in the office after I’m done with this. I’ll just stick to the plug-in pad and this one gets thrown into deep storage...

I received a homemade heating pad from a friend around 5 years ago, and it finally began to break down after years of use. When the burnt bits of rice actually started falling out, I knew I needed a new one, and so I began a year long search trying to find one that would replace it. I initally bought a pad off of etsy that was supposed to be rice with some essential oil that would smell good, but the smell turned rancid after a few weeks and I had to start my search all over again. Then I stumbled upon this heating pad and decided to take another chance - and boy was it a good choice! I LOVE this heating pad! It smells nice like cooked rice, and holds its heat for quite a long time. I like the two different materials a lot - the fleece side is super soft and less hot, while the cotton side holds extra heat for when I really need it. It is more "full" than pictured, so it's not quite as malleable as I would like, but that is really not too much of an issue. I typically heat it up for 1 minute and 30 seconds, and subsiquent heatings are only about 30-40 seconds. It comes in a sealed bag with instructions, so it's very easy to use!
