Great Shocks at a Great Price
Our 5er is 24 yrs old, we bought it this summer and then our work started. Interior was almost perfect so little was needed, my DW made new curtains, etc,etc...The exterior maintenance was in my wheelhouse. When it came to the shocks, they were dead... so finding replacements was tough, these RV only places charge astronomical prices, so I went to my local Napa, no luck ! Then I found these, read the reviews, did my due diligence and placed my order when I pulled all 4 wheels to repack the wheel bearings and replace all the brake components . Holy smokes !!! What a major difference, The fit was perfect and the ride is Amazing, buying from Amazon save $30. per shock from the “RV place”

Didn't know what I was missing
Night and day, amazing smooth ride, my old shocks were so badly used that they would not extend back out after removal. The new shocks provide a nice smooth ride.

Easy to install, but feel light duty
Installed on a fifth wheel that required me to jack up the body in order to compress the spring enough to fit. Completely tightened the nuts on both ends and seems like it helps but also seems like it's fairly light duty. Probably works better on a lighter weight camper. But since I completely rebuilt the entire suspension under my fifth wheel, this was a small investment to finalize suspension upgrade. Feels like the camper bounces less and I don't get any sway.

Ride Quality- Stability
As of today I haven’t had any long trips with our Fifth Wheel to get a good evaluation of the shocks. First appearance they are well built and the returns/response action hopefully will improve the ride quality that I am looking for.

Rubber bushings rotting and split after 3 years and about 4,000 miles use!
Update again: Replacing shocks again due to grommets split, I found one shock removed had lost its gas charge. I used to think highly of Monroe shocks, but not so much any more. Shocks should last a good long while... Not just a few miles and 3 yearsShocks seem ok after about 3 years and about 4,000 miles of travel...BUT I found the rubber bushings are now rotting and splitting! Not happy with Monroe causing me the need to get new shocks and redo the work AGAIN!!I initially I gave one star (see initial review below) and changed to five star. After contacting Monroe since my 30 day return window expired, They had me fill out a form which they sent to Amazon to deal with product warranty. I heard nothing for over a week, then Amazon sent me FOUR new shocks, instead of just the one replacement (one leaked fluid on first trip). I was totally surprised since I had given up thinking nothing was to happen for a warranty replacement. Since I needed to get a new shock in there before winter set in (already first snow and more this weekend) I ordered one replacement myself so I could get the 5th wheel put away for the season. Go figure, my one shock and the four they sent me all arrived the same day! Totally appreciative of four new shock replacements sent though!!! Guess I'll send one back for a refund of the now not needed replacement I ordered. INITIAL REVIEW: On our first and only trip of the year, less than 680 miles round trip, I found one of four of these shocks installed is LEAKING fluid.I have never had any shock fail in the past other than after years and miles of service. Frankly I am greatly disappointed in these Monroe shocks. It was a lot of work for me getting a side with tandem axles up high enough to allow removal and install of double stud shocks. Now I need another costly (for me) shock and have to do the removal and install after one single trip!VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!

so it's hard to say how good they are
so far they seem to be ok. they are mounted on a 16000 lb 5 th wheel trailer that no one is in while traveling, so it's hard to say how good they are. Items inside stay where we put them, that,s the only way I know how to rate this Item.

Just right
Work perfectly on my camper trailer. The gas charge takes a bit of the weight off the springs.
