I bought two of these trivets to match two old rooster trivets that I already owned. I put them over my stove burners (instead of burner covers). I bought them because I wanted a semi-matching trivet for each burner. I painted these myself because I wanted them to be colored like my original pair. They already come with a nice gloss black paint and rubber caps over the trivet nubs. I actually bought more caps for my old trivets because they don't have the rubber caps, and I don't want to scratch the stovetop. Bottomline, these are very nice trivets for the price. I looked all over the Internet for rooster or hen cast iron trivets. They're out there, but way more expensive. These work great for me. The photos are of one new trivet that I painted with acrylic paint, all four trivets (two old and two new), and one of my original old cast iron trivets.

Works totally fine. I have my hot oil can on it and have not had a problem yet. I used to have the bamboo ones and although I liked their style better, the wood would always wear out or split if I left them in the dishwater too long. No such chance of that happening with this cast iron one so it is PERFECT. And the rooster reminds me of something that may have been in my granny’s kitchen in Tennessee. :)

I really like this trivet - the size is perfect and it is strong and versatile. I recommend it highly.

This trivet protects both my counters and my kitchen table from hot casserole dishes. It reminds me of the cast iron trivets my mother used to place pots of soup on at the dinner table.

The rubber protectors in the bottom fall off. So you need to be sure they're all on there. I have a toddler and they are a choking hazard for him.Other than that it's a great piece to add to your farmhouse kitchen.

There was one rubber cap included for one of the legs, I wish all the legs had them since my stove is a glass top. Cool item tho

I love the cast iron but I hate the fact it does not have grips on the bottom so it slides very easy on the counter top

Works great but mine did not come with all the rubber feet pieces. They should have been glued on at least so they dont fall off so easy.

I ordered this item as it was supposed to have protective rubber caps on the feet. There was only one and it is cracked. I cannot place it on the glass stove as it will scratch. Poor quality control.
