Sun Dolphin Sun Slider 5 Seat Pedal Boat with Canopy

I would like to give 5 stars, but taking off 1 star because it came with a hole in it. It was a warehouse deal so I thought there was something wrong. Anyways the hole was easy to patch, and for the money I saved it was well worth it. The boat is easy to pedal and steers pretty good. I don't know how 5 adults would fit. The 545lb limit is probably all you can expect from it. You have to keep as level as you can. I'm a big guy and so is my son. Together we r about 520lb and boat handled well but was front heavy. We had 2 adults and 2children in it, and it was pretty loaded about 570lb. It looked like it was popping a wheelie, not as efficient but still fun. It is perfect for fishing with 2 adults. You can make pretty good progress against a good wind, I was afraid of going out and the wind making it impossible to get back to shore. We had about 15mph wind in our face and still made pretty good progress. Top speed is probably 4or5mph. I don't think you could sink if you tried. After 3 days on the water we had about 2 gallons of water in hull. It was easily drained. It was a lot of fun, everybody enjoyed it. So light and easy to carry. Fits in the back of my Chevy Colorado. So I do recommend!

The boat arrived just like anticipated and was very easy to setup and get into the water. Since buying the Sun Dolphin, I have found other information that would have made a difference prior to purchase. No where on the Amazon site or the Manufactures website informs you that you will need to purchase a (SWD) Saltwater drive system. The only reason I found this out, was due to grey water entering the boat where the pedals goes through the hull. To find out if this was normal, I had to download the owners manual online and that's where I found the Optional SWD system for an additional $200. I would have rated this boat a 5 star until I learned that I need to buy additional hardware to continue using it. When you calculate the cost of the boat and now the SWD the value to me has dropped to only two stars.

Our family is excited to spend some time in this boat in the summer, and I think it will work well. The build seems solid, and everything is well-put-together. It is bigger than I envisioned, but that is fine.Unfortunately there are a few issues. First, the canopy frame is bent out of shape, which I will try to fix myself. Second, the rub rail and one of the seat backs arrived already rashed up a bit; nothing to do about that I guess. Finally, one of the paddles is cracked and broken. I will contact the seller (or hope they contact me after reading the review) and request a new one.

I paid $450 or so delivered about 4 months ago when Amazon dropped their price. It's a great value. It ships in one piece wrapped in loose plastic. All you have to do is remove the plastic (2 minutes at most), drop the rudder (10 seconds), and put up the top.It's built like anyother pedal boat I've rented, and it works similarly. Pretty difficult to use in any current or wind, but that's the same with all pedal boats. 4 people fit just fine. I've tried a total weight of 560lb on calm water. No problem. That's probably close to the max it'll carry. Of course weight distribution is a big factor.Overall, at $450 shipped to my door, it's a great value.

We love this!!! I really like the canopy to protect us from the hot sun and I like that the seats can be adjusted for taller people. A couple of the drink holders are kind of shallow- prob only use for a beer can, but that's okay....

Had issues with length of time it took to receive it. But we so love this Sun Dolphin. Best investment we made this year. Very easy to peddle away. One person or more. We love the color, caught lots of fish this year. This boat gets in areas that are usually hard to maneuver. This boat is so simple and relaxing my son is 12 and goes by himself all over the lake. This boat is a must if you enjoy quiet relaxing fun with family or by yourself. Great for exercise without strain. Fishing holders work great and cooler is awesome. Canopy works great in sun and easy to put up or take down. Cup holders look as though they won't hold your coffee cup but yes they do I drank a ton and never spilled a drop. To the delivery person you were so helpful and super nice, Thank you for your excellent service.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this. I always thought using paddle boats looked like drudgery. BUT when I took it out, it was thoroughly enjoyable. It was not strenuous at all. Is very easy to paddle and enjoy the view with a cocktail, coffee or whatever. My only caution for a buyer is to check the canopy when it arives. Ours came freight and the company already cut the top half of the box off. Which I get since they wanted to verify the condition . It also made it very easy for us to see the condition, which was good. The one thing we did not do was extend the canopy and open up. When we did this later there was one 2" & one 1" razor cut presumably ly from when the freight company opened the box. We prayed flex seal on them and they sealed up, so all is well. Just watch for that issue.

The boat arrived damaged. It has obviously been damaged by a fork lift. It was also filthy when it arrived. Trying to return but am not getting any confirmation of the return.

Excellent and solid. However after 3 years the pedals Start to make noise as we pedal.

It is lightweight and easy to handle, easy to clean. We've only used for one weekend. We'll see in a year if we still love it.However if you're two farely heavy persons the weight shifts to the front and it makes it hard to control as the rudder blade is almost out of the water. You need to add weight in the back.....more beer, no ice is heavier.

Chose this pedal boat because of size, price and flexible seating. It arrived very close to estimated delivery date and in great shape. Just what we wanted. Grandkids love it.

This is an excellent Pedal boat. Comfortable, easy to paddle/pedal. Heavy enough to be stable in the water. No complaints yet.

I bought this in the spring and have been using it all summer. I wanted a boat that was stable and that I could peddle by myself. I got good service as the boat came exactly when it was supposed to and it was exactly as advertised. Thank you
