Great buy
I love this like I love my women... Cheap, strong and wound tight.... I'm sorry. It's not the highest quality, but it's the best bang for your buck. It's tensile strength is very impressive for the thickness.I tested it myself. One string laid over a pull up bar, tied to another bar and was able to hold my weight (175lbs).Not sure if thats a 90lb test or a 180 lb test...But I was impressed either way.I could see it going over 200lbs, but I currently lack the desire to hurt myself testing it. I've seen enough fail compilations to know what happens...People complain about it fraying.. Like every other twine out there does. Just use a lighter briefly on the ends. Just like most of us done many times before I'm sure.

Overall, it's a good product, just make sure your knots are really cinched down.
This stuff is strong, which is a plus. I don't like how slippery the string is however. If you are trying to tie a string line tight with an easily removable knot (like surveyors do, or for concrete forms), the string will tend to slip and get loose again, which is a minus. I will definitely buy actual surveyors/form string next time (which is what I wanted it for). They don't explicitly state that this string is good for the purposes I used it (although I don't see much difference between a Masons line and a surveyor's or concrete form line), maybe they use different knots in the Masonry industry.Overall, it's a good product, just make sure your knots are really cinched down.

Strong and versatile!
Strong, generous, easy to use mason twine. Used as chalk or level line, rope end whipping, small package tying, etc. Attach to top corner of a door, run through a pulley or eye hook and weight the end - now you have an automatic door opener or closer! At the time, less than $7 for 1000' & polyester won't rot like cotton.Diameter is #18. #18 Dia =.058"

frays like crazy
The string is strong as it should be, but when you cut it the ends fray like crazy. I won't be using this in the garden next season but I'll still finish the roll.

Lots and lots of good general purpose string
Lots and lots of good general purpose string for a great price. As some other customers have commented, it does not hold knots well. To solve this, run a lighter under the knot to slightly meld the plastic twine. Works great!

great
this is great and will last me a lifetime. It didn't really work for what I wanted but it is very durable and strong so will love having it when needed.

Quality string
I use this to re-string my $7 old Ikea Roman blinds, after I disassemble and wash them (fifth time). Worked in the past; worked now. I dont mind washing the blinds, I just resent that irresponsible parents made Ikea rip the $7 blinds from the shelves because parents didnt supervise their kids or pay more for blinds....I know, I know...I'm a stupid mom who stupidly supervised her kids when they might have entangled themselves. Mea Culpa.PS - I like the slipperyness -- knot the ends in a square knot, then a couple of unsophisticated higglety-pigglety knots, to secure the ends. I very briefly torch the frayed ends with my Bic (like 1/2 second) ,to melt them, and insert into the wood dowels. Faster and easier than buying 3 new blinds for $45 each (times five replacements). Oh and cheaper. Did I mention cheaper? And the string slides through the eyelet screws in a slippery manner. And it's cheaper.

Also very useful for tying lines to hang things on if you ...
I have a suite style dorm and I used this to tie the door handles of the connecting bathroom together so the other roommates couldn't open their door. It worked perfectly. Also very useful for tying lines to hang things on if you are lazy.
