Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros (Nintendo Switch)

I didn't get this device when it was first released by nintendo, so i was amazed to see Amazon EU still have these in stock.The device arrived safely, well packaged and in perfect condition. Im pretty sure all the other reviews have covered what this device is and what to expect. Retro gamers will be happy with this for sure. Quality is top tier as per Nintendo. Great screen, great controls and three awesome games. Highly nostalgic.The only concern i had was the amount of time this device would have been sitting in a warehouse with a depleting battery. The battery was discharged on arrival but a full charge and it seems to be good. Currently testing the condition of the battery by giving it a few run throughs as i play the games… so far, so good. (Li ion batteries can become degraded and a safety circuit can prevent further charging as a safety measure if a device if left long enough in a discharged state :/)

Pretty cool for the price, and something to trust with Nintendo's name behind it. Nice controls with rubber buttons. I do wish it had SMB3 as that would make it a lot more replayable. It has USB-C charging which is cool as usually these things take basic batteries and they die and I can never be bothered to use it as it keeps wasting the batteries, but this is simple and easy charing. And because it has an internal battery it is basically always on, you just turn the screen off and come back paused exactly where you are. Also the clock mode, it could essentially be used as a static clock if you leave it charging. The cool thing is mario and sometimes luigi run around at the bottom and smash the digit blocks away when the time changes. They sometimes do rare stuff like moonwalk and go down the pipe into a water world. But whats cool is you can hit buttons to spawn enemies and the legit AI tries to avoid them which is kind of cool. Not bad for £40. I wish there were more of these things. Having something completely standalone with no updates, logins, accounts, connectivity, just turn on and go is rare these days and actually quite refreshing. The thing is tiny as well so could easily be in a pocket as its at least 75% smaller than the average sized phone, it fits entirely in my palm for example. No headphone slot but you can turn the volume all the way down, it also has brightness adjustments and a battery indicator.

WOW!!!!!!!!! I love this Mario game and watch so so much it looks absolutely amazing the red and gold colour goes back to the original game and watch colours in the 1980s its the same size as the originals too the screen is a very vivid and colourful lcd display and even though the screen is small to modern standards its still very clear and feels a good size when playing the games on it the Graphics are classic Mario through and through and it’s definitely got that classic retro feel to it you get super Mario bros and super Mario bros 2 (lost levels) plus a Mario version of Nintendo’s classic ball game and a clock/alarm all built into the system the D-pad is absolutely perfect in my opinion it feels very responsive and has great feed back during game play the A and B buttons work perfectly too and the whole handhold system feels very very well made it has that Nintendo quality feeling to it and you can see and feel that they have put a lot of time and work into making this a good quality well made item its got a built in battery which should last for around 8 hours of gameplay you get a small Charging cable provided for charging the system as well it has a small speaker on the left of the system which is surprisingly loud for such a small thing and even if you turn it up full it doesn’t have any distortion at all which is very impressive it also has some great additional features too there’s 35 hidden feature to discover (because Mario 35 year anniversary) i wont tell you any because its part of the fun finding out for your self the controls feel like there very similar to the NES controller layout which also give t that retro feeling I’m extremely impressed with this i ordered it on the day it became available for pre orders on Amazon and i waited patiently for its release and received it on release day hoping it would meet my expectations and its exceeded my expectations to be honest I can’t express how much I recommend this item if your a gamer or your buying for a gamer or a retro collector trust me you/they will no be disappointed they way its packaged the way it feels the way it looks and plays is absolutely worth every single penny of the £49.99 price tag yes its not cheap but its Nintendo its very collectible and LIMITED and its retro too it truly is unique and i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this game and watch i could talk about it for days WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is very entertaining for die hard fans and retro gamers.It is small neat easy to play but not so if you have big hands.Unlike the originals you do not have the prop stand to have it upright next to your bed.Music is spot on and playing this does put a smile on my face and takes me back to my childhood.The only thing is, do I think it is worth £50?It is good but no it's light and feels like there is nothing to it, don't get me wrong it is well made but the price here is a bit of a cash grab using nostalgia.You may think different and that's great but to me and comparing it to other retro consoles like the Sega megadrive mini it's not a lot for the price.About half the price would be about right in my opinion but it is a lot of fun.
