Just a better product than others.

I switched from another brand, since they can't consistently sell a fresh product. These are delicious so far. Price is fair and they stay fresh.

Still good, but VERY salty

I love sesame sticks. I loved these so much that I subscribed to them. I have gotten several bags and enjoyed them: fresh, crunchy and tasty. The last batch, I was kind of surprised at how salty it was, and I love salty snacks. Maybe it's this batch, but it's almost indelibly salty for me. I will probably mix them in with some unsalted nuts or pretzels to offset this saltiness. UPIC, watch the sodium next time! I am probably going over to another brand in the future.

Empty Bags (a GOOD thing!)

The day a package of Yupik sesame sticks arrive, I have to empty the entire bag(s) — and portion it out amongst several 30oz/850g BPA-free food storage canisters. Otherwise, the entire bag(s) will surely be consumed in one sitting by the household. One canister is simply to store half (50%) away for restocking the 2-3 canisters that I plan to make at any time. Using a food scale makes it easier for me to divide the sesame sticks among the containers, but I’m not rigorous about the measurements, according to my eye & the scale (bearing in mind, I’m prepping for practical & reasonable human consumption, and not a lab experiment.)Now then… Of the remaining half that I’ve portioned for immediate use, I put a third (30%) of that portion in a “custom mix” that will be continually replenished until I’m all out of its ingredients/components. This custom mix also includes — to varying degrees so that the sesame sticks do appear to equally blend into the mix — the following: unsalted but roasted peanuts, sunflower seeds, cashew pieces, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and crispy rice with seaweed crackers (a Japanese variety that can be found at “international,” “world-foods,” or various Asian markets). If you’re still with me this far… Of the remaining 70% remaining (of the 50% for immediate use), I portion about two-thirds (65-70% roughly) to its own container to be enjoyed on its own. This container is not replenished by the stock I set aside; once the sole portion is gone, that’s when I generally know to order another bag of Yupik from Amazon. And finally, of what’s left for immediate use (roughly about 30-35% of the 50% apportioned), I throw will roughly chop, or throw in my mortar & pestle to roughly grind. I use the roughly chopped bits/ground pieces on top of salads. (like croutons). Also, I will also often make homemade furikake so I will finely chop/grind the sesame sticks to use my furikake mix, which mainly consists of spicy roasted seaweed/nori and sesame seeds (that I prefer to roast myself, as well). For those who may not know, furikake is a topping/dressing for steamed rice.Though, not exact in terms of tradition, but the concept is similar to how Italians will grate a small piece of hard cheese on top of plated pasta dishes. So pairing grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, Pecorino Romano, Grana Padano, or aged Asiago on your pasta as it’s served is similar to seasoning a bowl of steaming rice with your choice of furikake mix/flavor. And, I like to make homemade furikake with Yupik’s seasame sticks, grated medium-fine, and added to a what inspires me usually that generally always includes seaweed (nori) and roasted sesame seeds.I think the length of this review speaks to how much we like and how often I use Yupik’s sesame sticks. I’ve tried other brands before from Yankeetraders, Trader Joe’s, and a long list of other small batch suppliers and makers. I now only buy Yupik for the reasons covered in this review. It’s never oily (meaning, no residue oil on fingers as it’s being eaten), always fresh out of the bag when we get it (cannot say the same for other products that have arrived stale or have strange or rancid aftertaste), and it is flavored exactly the way I expect a sesame stick to taste.I can attest to having sampled relatively more than the average consumer, as sesame sticks are obviously part of our daily “bread” – so to speak – in out home. Also, it’s the better value to boot. Comparably Yupik beats every other supplier on the price of its one bag (2.2lbs). Have a quick look-see or search on the cost/price per ounce/lb, and it’s head-scratching how Yupik sells a better quality product at so much more a reasonable price (regardless of current inflation).Anyway, I obviously cannot say enough (good) things on Yupik’s sesame sticks. By the way, we do buy other Yupik products sold on Amazon — but the sesame sticks are is a staple item in the pantry. I make sure to keep the extra “replenishment” stock on-hand, and I am (and have been) harangued if the “only-sesame sticks container” is ever empty for more than a day or two.I’ve learned to take precautions, on when to re-order. Therefore, another 2.2lb bag is on its way before I have to send smoke signals for fear of being home without additional sesame sticks on hand (exaggerating to instill a sense of panic; using hyperbole for dramatic effect – for no reason other than having been under COVID-19 “house arrest” gave me too much time to be “creative” yet feeling that, at anytime my time could be up). Should Amazon stop carrying/selling Yupik sesame sticks – I shudder at the thought, as I cling to my food scale. ;)

Crunchy and lots of flavor.

Burnt?

These are ok nice and crunchy but taste close to a burnt flavor like cooked a little to long or too high a temperature. Will eat some and share some with our wildlife buddies so it's all good, mostly
