General Tools 311012 1/2-Inch Button Plugs, Oak, 50-Pack

I bought these plugs to cover screw holes in hanging racks I mounted on my bedroom and bathroom doors. Drilled a pilot hole for the screw first and then carefully used a forester bit to drill a ½ inch hole about ⅜" deep so the top of the screw could sit below the surface of the board. The diameter of the plugs is a tad uneven and I had to feel my way through several to find ones that would fit snugly in the hole. The manufacturer says these plugs are oak, but they didn't quite match the red oak boards I used to make the rack. The grain looks right but the color is a little darker. Worked for me.

These have a consistent color and size. No noticeable difference in any of them. Fit snuggly in 1/2" hole, take stain well.

Just what I needed when I needed them

I use these in craft projects. They are the perfect size for yarn gnome noses, if you're interested. The local hardware store only had packages of 12 for more money so I'm extremely pleased with this product.

Completely misleading advertising picture!These plugs are horrible! It shouldn’t even qualify as “Prime”!My dad used to say “cheap stuff often costs more”, which is definitely the case and true here!I rather pay more than waste time and money on products from companies and sellers that don’t care or bother about important things such as quality control.It’s pretty obvious that this company/store/seller exercises ZERO QUALITY CONTROL!I should’ve known better than to purchase a pack of 50 furniture wood plugs that are made in China and cost less than $5 USD!The package (sealed plastic container) is actually decent but unfortunately and as you can see through my pictures here, most of these plugs are damaged.And talk about size inconsistency!!!None of these plugs are the same size! Personally, I think that’s more difficult to accomplish in mass production “molded items”…unless of course the Chinese are carving these by hand, which is likely the case…and it wouldn’t be a problem if only advertised as such. These aren’t supposed to be “assorted sizes”.When it comes to buying in bulk or large packs, I have no issues overlooking a couple damaged items and minor size discrepancies.Unfortunately, that’s definitely not the case with these plugs!At least 45 out of 50 (meaning, 90% of it) are chipped or otherwise damaged!!Most of these came with tiny holes right on the center top of the “mushroom caps”, which is simply mind boggling, especially considering what furniture plugs are used and meant for!The “trunk bases” are just as bad as most of the bottoms are either chipped and/or uneven.Trust all the negative reviews here, especially the ones about size consistency, which you’ll find NONE on these caps!I’m returning it…but since there’s no option to return this item via free of charge UPS pick up, this definitely turned out to be a bad transaction with unavoidable time and financial losses.It costs more than twice as much as the price of the item to return it via UPS pick up, which is absolutely absurd, but it’s either that or cost of fuel to take it to Kohl’s or a UPS store. Unless we have to go to a nearby place, this is definitely a loss on return.Keep looking…I wouldn’t want these if they were free of charge!

Used these for my small gnomes I make for craft shows.

We purchased these to replace some of the cheap plastic caps in ‘assemble - at - home’ bathroom furniture.Due to some variations in manufacturing tolerances I tried one in each specific location before driving it‘Fully home’ permanently. They work really well and look like they were originall.

Repainted my stair railing, changing the color. For the price, it was the way to go, rather than sanding/cleaning all the old plugs.

I only thing a didn't like is I wish there would of been an option to order less than 50 that it comes in.Item arrived when promised and as described by seller.

Great plugs at a super low price. Only problem they didn't offer all the sizes of plugs.
