Quality magnet kit
I like the fact that it has a cushion delivered with it. If used it could prevent damage to oil filter and oil pan.

Good strong magnet
I saw these and consider magnets to be pretty important for catching small metallic particles in engines. On my two cars the oil filters are both vertical and somewhat flat on the bottom. I put this on both and I noticed after a week the magnet was shifting a bit. Maybe due to the slight curving on the bottom of the oil filter. I also live in Pennsylvania which qualifies as automotive abuse if you have ever been on our roads. I moved these to the bottom of each oil pan next to the drain. These are holding solid and doing what I intend them to do.

Oil filter magnets
Iโm about 18 hours away from doing a 200 hour service on my tractor. I installed the magnets when I got them. 1 on the oil filter 1 on hydrostatic transmission oil filter and one on general hydraulic oil filter. Iโve bounced the tractor pretty hard and they are hanging on. Canโt wait to cut open the old filter and see if they caught anything.

The magnet is very strong and itโs well made. I rated it at a 3 because the magnet does move when mounted to the bottom of the oil filter. Oil filters are not completely flat on the bottom. I knew this before buying it but figured Iโd give it a try. The best place to put something like this is on an oil pan or something thatโs flat, as long as itโs not aluminum. Youโre much better off buying the filter mag made for oil filters.

I change my oil on all my vehicles. Originally, I was a skeptic. Not anymore! For years I've changed the oil on my vehicles. Taking off the oil filter normally would feel empty. Since purchasing the magnet, (which is placed directly on the bottom of your oil filter.) Now has some weight. I do feels it traps metal particulates in the filter. I have them on two vehicles, (1992 Ford F-150; 2010 Mustang GT; and my XT1 Cub Cadet lawn tractor) The magnet is strong. Not one magnet has been lost since i've purchased them, well over a year and a half ago.
