Mainstays 5-Piece Wood and Metal Dining Set, Espresso

Everything needed to be assembled, which I knew when I purchased it.. however I did not realize the amount of "finesse" that would be required to align the various metal pieces. It took me 3 hours and 50 minutes to put the entire set together. The other interesting thing to note is that the dining set traveled over 12,000 miles to get to me! Manufactured in China and shipped to Wright City, MO... then to the seller and FedEx'd across the country before it reached me in Chesterfield, MO... which is less than 30 miles from Wright City! There were 2 minor dents in the table top but I don't have time to arrange for a replacement. Hopefully it will hold up!

I bought this dining set for a small apartment my husband and I lived in for a time. It was easy to put together, and great for the price! However, one thing I was disappointed with was that the chair cushions would repeatedly come loose. The screws in the set wouldn't hold well, likely because of the wood within the cushion. While this was frustrating, overall the dining set was great for the price.

The first star is that it's priced to fit the quality. It is what is says it is. Cheap. I just needed something to get us by for the next couple years while my hubby gets through school, so I went in knowing it would probably be sub-par, but feel like the assembly could have been better. There are holes in the tabletop to guide where the frame must be drilled in, but they do not line up at all. The chair frames are not easy to get together and in the end, they wobble. The cushions don't have guidance holes at all so you are drilling blindly into it and if it's not done perfectly, you end up stripping it. I was glad they are sending replacements for the cushions and that's where the second star comes in. Fingers crossed they get put together this time around.

Chairs were a pain to assemble, and some are not perfectly straight and wobble slightly. This isn't an issue for me. For the price of this item, that is to be expected. The table top itself is beautiful and exceeded my expectations. Would purchase again.

Relatively easy to put together and moderately sturdy. Its good for the price and you get what you pay for. It is not a long term dining room table. It does not seem it will last very long.

I think the table is of a very good quality. Cushion in the chairs I do not like that much. It would be better if it is wood. But the price might go much higher of course...

For the price, its an okay set. It was hard getting the chairs not to wobble when building it and already the laminate on the table top is peeling.
