Knitting Gifts for Baby Paperback – May 24, 2013

I purchased this book mainly because of the 'Butterfly Sweater' (which I have just finished and am now making the 'butterflies'), but it has sooo many more that I like; it is well worth the cost. All the patterns are basically quite simple, basic patterns; easy to make, but have that little extra something different to make them really special. The illustrations are first class and, along with the brief descrptions with each pattern, are very inspiring. The directions are well written and easy to follow. I have showed this book to others and we all agree, the 'Spring Blanket' could just as easily be made for adults, just using a different yarn and adding on squares. I have many other blanket patterns with a leaf motif, but this one is the only one that is made similar to entralac. Might make it a little bit of a challenge to make, but that's half the fun, right? The yarn recommended for each project is also first class, quality yarn and if something at least of the same quality is used, you cannot help but have a good finished product. Everyone should have this book on hand, as some time, one way or the other, you're going to have a friend or relative that would need something special for a baby. Anything made from this book would, and should, become an heirloom.

I had this book out from my local library, and when I didn't want to return it I decided to buy. I like almost all of the patterns in this book (I have to like at least 50% of the patterns before I'll buy a book). I'm currently knitting the cabled cape and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I'm hoping to knit a few more projects before the holiday gift giving season arrives. The patterns in this book are simple but unique, and they range from finish in a night (like the cover hat) to finishing in a few weeks (if you're an "evenings only" kind of knitter). I do wish publishers would jump on board with my idea for all knitting books to be spiral bound, but aside from that this is an excellent addition to my knitting pattern library.

The book has some very nice patterns and is printed boldy it is esy to read, Plus you get to see what the results will be if you follow their directions in the back there is a yarn section, a chart for determining what wieght is recommended needle sizes. Techniques blocking felting and one of the best explanation of Abbreviations How,when and why. It is very well written and desearves 5 stars Follow their direction

I really enjoyed the patterns in this book. I haven't knitted anything from it yet but I am looking forward to trying out some of the patterns.

Fantastic knitting book. Oodles of baby gift ideas. I made 4 hats like the one shown on the cover. Worked up quickly andthe "MOMS" loved them. One Mom said this is the only hat her daughter will keep on. Must be the button strap rather thana tie under the chin. I am very pleased with the book.

I really like the patterns in this book, so far I have made the jiffy baby jacket, and the cutest little smocked dress. They both turned out fantastic, and are so cute. These two knits are worth knitting again, would make great baby shower gifts. Other patterns include a charming light pink shrug, bib, poncho and matching booties, hats, butterfly sweater, shaggy sweater, blankets, vests, toys, cute little basic kimono top.

All of the patterns in this book are so cute, especially the Cabled Cape and Butterfly Cardi. I have knitted 3 of the patterns so far and found no errors, and the patterns were well written. Many of the patterns are top-down or bottom-up, which I love. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who loves knitting for babies.

I knitted the leafy green blanket for a friend's new baby and it came out great. It was a huge hit at the baby shower. It was interesting to knit the whole way through. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture :(

Per un non madrelingua i termini sono abbastanza ostici. Inoltre devo dire che di questo libro salvo giusto 2 o 3 modelli.I restanti sono davvero too much e non di mio gusto.Rendo quindi il libro perché per me inutilizzabile.

A beautiful book full of really lovely patterns. The instructions and illustrations are easy to follow. I look fwd to making them for my baby and as gifts for others.

I love it. Every single pattern is excellent. Patterns well written. I recomend having this book to anyone who loves to knit baby clothes
