This desk is adorable and totally functional. I bought it for my home office and it looks awesome in there! I put this together by myself. It took 2.5 hours (I timed it because some reviewers said it took them 2-3 hours and others said it took 4+ hours). I should mention that when I assembled it, I was also eight months pregnant and sitting on a hard floor, so I swear, if I can do this, you can too. :)As noted in other reviews, there's a humorous element to the instruction booklet, which was fun. The product is made in the U.S.A. so that was a bonus, and it's likely the reason the instructions were actually readable. For the most part, pieces were easily-distinguishable. I did have to study the diagrams a bit to ensure I was putting all the little pieces of hardware where they were supposed to go, but better safe than sorry!I think the workspace is sufficient. I have an iMac desktop computer on one side and room to keep a large planner, phone, beverage, and even my company laptop on the desk at the same time. Only one of the drawers is a file drawer, and since the file folders go in sideways instead of facing you, it doesn't hold very many. That's fine because I have another file cabinet, but it would be cool if it held more. I added pictures because so many people were curious about it. The second drawer is the same as the first one (without the filing rack) so it's pretty deep. I'd recommend some kind of organizer insert if you aren't keeping large items in it.I really like this desk and I think it was a good purchase for the money.

All around good looking and functional desk. Chose white to fit in with "coastal cottage" decor. Desk feels solid. The only thing I miss is having a "pencil draw" for convenient storage of pens, scissors, tape, etc . . but maybe "the kids" don't need or use most of what I like to keep handy. So, for now, I've got a temporary place to store such items on the desktop. The desktop, by the way, has an attractive faux rough sawn / chalk painted appearance. Worth the money. A bit of a labor of love to assemble but that's just the price we pay for the convenience of flat-packed furniture. Lay out the pieces on a rug or blanket. Set up the connecting pieces in small containers, play your favorite tunes and the assembly will hum along . . in several hours. You might need an extra hand once or twice, so . . . plan for that possibility.

I absolutely LOVE my new desk. It looks gorgeous and is the perfect size (I wanted something that wasn't too deep.). The instructions for assembly were well-done and the holes all lined up perfectly (unlike some of those "other" assemble-yourself brands). My husband put it together in a couple of hours without any assistance. The desk is sturdy and feels well-made. The drawers have the hardware for hanging files, although I did not need that function so left that off. I was able to feed my charging cable for my laptop into one drawer and my Mac fits perfectly inside while charging. The bottom shelves and sturdy (not quite wide enough for a standard printer). The top has a slight texture to it, but not so much that you couldn't write on it. I am very happy with it.

Let me start off by saying that this is a nice desk, it's sturdy and looks very nice (sits just a bit lower than I expected). It's packed very well, and it took me about four hours to put together. The directions are about 97% clear, but what's left out is not that confusing to figure out on your own. There is a LOT of hardware used to put the desk together (I sort of freaked out when I saw how much there was). The directions are humorous because they suggest you get some wine and snacks about half way through, and then tell you to take a nap when you are done. The biggest pain of putting this together were the drawers themselves. There are some brackets that hold the sides of the drawers to the front piece, I suggest screwing the brackets down first and then sliding the sides into the brackets (instead of following the directions that tell you to slide the sides in first and then screw in the brackets). This will allow you enough room to actually be able to screw the brackets down (almost impossible if you follow the directions). One thing that I am not happy about is that the drawers in no way, shape or form will hold hanging files. They are too small (across, they are plenty deep). A standard letter size piece of paper does not fit lengthwise in either drawer. This was disappointing to me, as I wanted a desk to file things in, and expected this desk to do that since the description says that it will. Other than that though, I would definitely recommend this desk.

Love it! I am an adult graduate student and professional who works at a desk all day then studies at a desk all night, especially as textbooks become more digitalized. My husband and I recently moved to a bigger space where I have my own office (which I hadn't realized until after this purchase also has a Sauder L-shaped desk I bought prior to moving- that one made this assembly seem breezy). The problem has become how isolated I feel sometimes working alone at a desk, particularly now that we have a home that has space to welcome many and my office is the furthest room from our living area. I purchased this little desk for my dining room so that I can at least be close to all the guys during football games. Last night was the first time testing this social theory, and it was awesome. I focused more when I felt apart of things since the game itself doesn't distract me and I am generally highly social. And when I needed a little room to concentrate more deeply, I simply slipped into my office. This sweet little desk is small enough to not disrupt the flow of my dining room and has colors that are extremely calming. The chair space was shockingly large enough to fit a comfy chair, which makes a bigger difference than one might think, especially if it feels like you spend your whole life in an office chair. The desk is also easy to move around to make room or when rearranging furniture. The instructions require full attention, but they are quite thorough and are highly systematic in presentation. And if they become overwhelming, check out the website provided- there are videos. Highly recommend this product.

And functional: I put the file-hanging system in the left drawer, and can now have a filing cabinet built right into the desk! It took about two hours to assemble by myself but you REALLY have to examine the instructions: It's not an intuitive assembly. I'd suggest reading the instructions thoroughly, to get your head around the pieces and hardware, before even beginning. And do it page by page, don't try to skip ahead. I don't care about how much IKEA furniture you've put together... This desk is not like that. Seriously, set aside some time to make this. It will be great in the end but the assembly is definitely a learning experience. I just wish I could order more hardware to add a filing system for the other drawer.
