Great Buy- Should make the top of your registry list!
**Update** (5 years later) Going to be using this for my second kid, had in storage and still looks like new. I had the liner separate with baby clothes and just washed it, looks perfect. All the parts still work and swings just like it did for my first born! So excited it's held up and can get more usage from it! _______________________________ I am a new mom, however, first of my friends to start having children. My friends that are now pregnant have been asking me, "What were the top lifesaver items you bought to get you through the first year?". This my friends, is one of the TOP purchases. I love my Graco DuetSoothe Swing + Rocker, Winslet. We have used this swing when baby was irritable and just wanted to be rocked to sleep, when baby had a cold, and just for a nap during the day so that my hands could be free to do some chores! The main reasons why I love this swing, and why I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it: 1) It plugs into the wall. Seriously, no more batteries to operate swings!! This has been so helpful during the nights when he needed CONSTANT movement to sleep. (Batteries still needed to power vibrating option on chair) 2) I love the swing seat. It has a nice, comfortable bucket style that cocoons the little one in safely. I have friends that bought the Fisher-Price Snugabunny Cradle 'N Swing (With Smart Swing Technology). Nice swing, but comparing the two seats... The seat is just not as nice, it's at a downward angle and the child doesn't look comfortable or as safe as in the Graco - even with the harness strapped on. 3) Easy to wash. We have had many, many explosions (need I say more?) in the swing. Little man was happy as a clam, meanwhile the seat looked pretty bad. We just took off the infant liner and threw it in the wash (added a little baking soda)- looks great. The main lining on the swing is a little more complicated to remove, especially when soiled, because you have to turn it upside-down. Suggestion- use a towel underneath! 4) Has easy turn axle to alternate swinging side-to-side and front and back. Our baby doesn't really have a preference, but I have heard stories from my patients in the hospital that they bought a nice swing and the baby didn't like the direction. They had to then go out and buy a whole new swing. That dilemma can be completely avoided with this swing! 5) The seat can detach and become a rocking vibrating chair. This was helpful when we had our little guy right out of the hospital, we were honestly in the middle of MOVING and only had a few baby items. This was great because it doubled as a bouncing chair and swing all in one. Less to move with and easy take on and off- you can do it with one hand. Things that don't really matter: 1) It can play music/soft noises (ocean, birds, etc.) 2. It has little bears for little man to look at. They don't move and when he was little, he didn't seem to care. I now tie little toys to them to extend the toys so he can play with them. In summary, I highly recommend this swing. It is incredibly soft, comfortable, safe and durable. He loves his swing for naps during the day or if I need a safe place to put him while I take a shower. If I were Oprah, I'd have a giveaway of my favorite things with this at the top of the list. I hope this review was helpful to you in your decision!

Missing parts
It’s the best out there #1 top notch in my opinion, don’t waste your money on cheap off brand items, that can’t be passed down to siblings family or friends, where anything by graco can be passed down, graco and only!! graco has been used in my family for decades, peace of mind ✅ Quality and safety ✅ Durability and comfort ✅ Trusted name ✅ I highly Recommend the brand ✅ With that being said, it’s my first time buying it online, my daughter is very pregnant, and we planed a baby shower this weekend, after careful consideration and reviewing, I ordered the 2 in 1 duetsoothe, when it arrived I did the usual, as I do with anything I purchase online, and that is to inspect!! Everything especially the baby’s stuff, so the box was a bit damaged but nothing too extreme, I would have to replace the box, for proper presentation for the baby shower, however during inspection, one of the bars are a little bent and the plushy toys that go around automatically were nowhere to be found, I talked to Amazon Ai and they told me, they don’t do replacement parts. I’m getting ready to call and hopefully get it resolved before the baby shower

Great item
Before our son was born we bought one of the high tech swings that has 5 or 6 different rocking motions such as “car ride”, etc., but my son not only hated this swing, but even with the newborn insert it looked like his neck was not in a good position. So I read a ton of reviews for various regular swings such as this and settled on this one due to the overall positive reviews, detachable rocker, recline function, appearance, and relatively low price. This swing has served us very well so far. My son likes it and will occasionally nap in it. The seat reclines enough to where I am not worried about his neck. The swing has 3 positions and 5 speeds, and they have been working well so far. My son is only 12 pounds right now so I’m not sure how the motor will do when he gets a lot bigger, but so far so good. I have occasionally detached the seat and used this as a rocker. As a rocker it’s okay. You have to manually rock the baby of course, but my biggest issue with the rocker is that I would typically probably want to use the vibration, but the vibration is unusable on this product. The vibration is super loud and creates a rattling sound that is super annoying. This is not a big enough deal for me to take a star off, but if the vibration is really important to you just know you won’t like using it on this product. The mobile is fine. Even though it is white and does not move, I see my son looking up at it and smiling. The sounds and music are okay. Do not expect a super high quality sound, but they are passable. What I dislike the most is that the music and sounds turn off automatically after a period of time- I wish they stayed on until I turned them off when the swing is plugged in. Otherwise a good buy, especially for the price.

Spacious, sturdy and quiet.
Large base but very sturdy and light. This is a must for any newborn. It is very soft and high quality. Rocks in 2 directions and the seat comes off for on the go around the house! Great product, highly recommend!

So far, so good.
Ok folks!....So based on all the problems listed in multiple reviews...i was SUPER skeptical about purchasing this swing. So skeptical in fact...that i decided NOT to get it, but then a family member got it for us. So here's the lowdown so far: -Shipped on time. -No missing pieces, and all the pieces are in good shape. -Super easy to put together...im a 5ft tall woman and i did it myself with children in tow in under 15min. Instructions were common sense & easy to follow. -It's not a compact swing, but im actually surprised how well it fits in our small apartment. It's an airy design, so doesn't really disrupt our open floor plan. -The patterned part is that soft plastic-type fabric, easy for cleaning spit-up off of. I am a little disappointed with the other fabric. It looks minky, but the feel is actually more like a rough felt sort of. But does feel like it's made to last at least. -The little bears are cute and i was surprised that he immediately fixated on them and seemed to like them. -He's been in there for mere minutes and is already asleep...i can't even believe it. I'm just sitting here watching him in awe that he's sleeping without an hour and a half of me having to walk him around...breaking my back. -It does sway ever so slightly when it's on the max speed, but it's a safe, reasonable and minimal amount imho. -It's not silent...it does make a side to side noise like all swings do, but again, I find it to be a normal amount...isn't waking baby up, and i think we'd sleep through it fine, as it's steady white noise. -There were complaints that's the seat tilts to the side, ours doesn't. -There were complaints that the legs don't sit flush, ours do. -There were complaints that the seat is too shallow...i find it to be an appropriate standard shaped seat. My 5 week old fits fine and seems will grow into the seat well enough. -So far it doesn't make that horrid creaking noise I've heard in videos...but that seems to start afterwards, so I'll update this post if it starts. -I'll also update if the motor slows or dies like others have said has happened. So! ...as of right now, it's looking good, and hoping it stays that way! UPDATE: Baby is now 10 weeks and has gotten big and heavy. We've had to upgrade our go-to speed from 4, to now a 5. So the people with BIG babies who say the machine barely swings...I TOTALLY believe them. I'm guessing we'll be maxing out the speed soon ourselves. The machine makes the occasional clicking now, not super often, and I think I know why. One day the machine was swinging and baby was in it, and my daughter leaned on the swing (which was stopping it from moving, while the motor was still running) to put the baby's sock back on. THAT'S when the slight clicking started. Couple weeks after that...my daughter got a basket ball stuck under the swing while it was moving...and the clicking got slightly worse. I constantly have to remind my husband to TURN OFF the swing first...because he makes the swing stop when he deals with the baby, and I cant imagine thats good for the motor. The sound is getting worse each time something like that happens. So im willing to bet that a lot of the people who say they get really bad clicking after a certain amount of time...might be harming the swing in this same way. Has the swing been worth it? YESSSSSSSSS. Omg. It has SAVED us on some really bad days. So worth it. UPDATE: Baby will be 12 months old in a couple weeks. It's finally happened...the swing is making that loud, continuous creaking noise. Loud enough to wake baby up if there's no music or white noise to drown it out. Such a big heavy baby now though, it's no surprise that the swing finally can't quite keep up. The heavier he gets, the more wobble is in the motion of the swing. But overall, we're not only happy with how the swing has helped us...I wish I would have bought a second one for Grammy's house. After all the stress of deciding whether to buy this thing in the beginning...turns out it was the #1 best thing we got and the one thing we couldn't live without. With my injuries...I don't think I would have made it without this swing for baby.

Close to perfect, if not perfect.
Background: Baby is at 99% for height and weight, and grandpa wanted a swing (and tub, and bottles, and crib, and...) kept here so I can babysit as often as I get the chance. Thus I wanted a well-respected rocker/swing for what might become a pretty big infant. This one is rated for 30lbs and seems well loved by parents. Pro's: 1) It's his kryptonite. He can't stay awake in it if I sit by him, kick on the rain or the heartbeat background sounds, and set the swing on #2. 2) I really like the removable rocker. It's simply way convenient. 3) Shut it all off and he's at a great height for talking with or playing with while I'm in a kitchen chair. Cons: 1) It's kinda heavy. I don't care, but grandma is not grooving on the weight. And the rocker with junior in it is closing in on too heavy. 2) 34" wide at the base (front)? Are you kidding me? And disassembly means screwing with the wiring disconnects? (which are poorly thought out, but a non-issue for a one-time assembly. Just carefully tuck in the excess before assembling. You'll see what I mean when you get there). Since the unit makes no pretense of being portable is there some compelling reason Graco didn't just make the width adjustable? Or narrow it a bit and weight the base? Or....? If you narrow the front base bar by 2.75" by cutting the front cross leg and re-drill the interconnect holes it fits through larger doors with only a mild wiggle of the base. The little plastic front bar connector is slightly off-center, but that's cosmetic. Nobody in the family has every noticed, and it's plenty stable. Updated after 6 years: 3 babies later and this thing is all of their kryptonite. "Take him/her to grandpas house" seems to get muttered a lot when infants aren't sleeping well and mom wants to sleep. Thoughts: 1) Thank goodness for the AC adapter. 2) Are some of you reviewers trying to send your kids into orbit? How fast are you going? You're trying to mimic moms natural movement, not a carnival ride. Unless there are blankets dragging on the ground I've never even been close to full power/speed. And these kids are 90% plus in height and weight. 3) We use the removable swing more than expected. It's great to pull the rocker out and set baby by the dinner table. 4) It's super stable fore to aft, and the swing rotates as you want, so no reason to not have the base facing the most table direction. 5) I run rechargable hi-capacity batteries in the vibrating base. Not that I use it much, but once in a while, say a sick baby cranky baby, it's helpful. 6) The reclinable seat has been nice too. Up for baby to look around, down for sleeping. We're at 5 3/4 grandkids now, and I've still to see a sleeper/swing that kids fall asleep in as well. (don't let them sleep over-night in one, or even for extended periods).

Fisher-Price SUCKS. This Graco should have 'Beastmode' as one of the speed settings. Worth. Every. Penny.
I have three kids all of whom were swing babies. With each baby we had two swings - one for the bedside and one for the living room. Needless to say, we have way too much experience with infant swings. After dealing with the crappy engineering of various Fisher Price swings, specifically, Little Snugabunny, Starlight, and Zen Models, I was not going to make the same mistake with my third baby. All three had super loud motor clicking sounds, the metal frames all creaked and could never find a proper balance even on a hard flat surface, and the motors all pooped out after just a couple months. So, we have technology to build particle accelerators and stealth bombers but making an affordable plastic swing that has one main function is too much to ask. I read that the new models inexplicably have auto shut off features which, to me, is confirmation that the R & D folks are all either male and childless or just plain sadistic because what kind of monster creates a machine to sooth a cantankerous baby by is rhythmic motion and sound and then suddenly shuts off at 3am thereby waking the beast and causing mommy to inch one step closer to wrist restraints and confiscated shoelaces? I digress... This swing is far and away the best of the bunch and actually does what it advertises. This thing is a beast and has even survived my 3 year old trying to swing from it. It is quiet, never gets out of balance, and has good speed variability. The pad is easily removable for the many times that your baby will have a diaper blowout or puke or both. Worth. Every. Penny.

Loved by baby, but stopped working in under a month
I really wanted to love this swing. My baby has hated every swing we’ve tried, but he actually liked this one. I think the vibrating function is what did it. It was the first swing we were able to get him to nap in, which felt like a huge win. Unfortunately, the quality does not match the $210 price tag. The swing feels very lightweight and cheap for the cost. The buttons feel flimsy when pressed, and the music is extremely quiet even at the highest setting it’s barely noticeable. The toy mobile also does not spin; it just hangs there. For $210, I would have expected it to rotate like most other swings. The packaging could also use improvement pieces were loosely thrown into the box instead of securely packaged. The biggest issue though was that we purchased this on January 20th, and by February 14th it completely stopped working. The motor no longer runs and it doesn’t work on batteries or when plugged in, so it appears to be a motor failure after less than a month of normal use. It’s disappointing because the concept is great and my baby genuinely liked it, but for this price I expect better durability and overall quality.
