Martin Furniture Fulton 61" Space Saver Double Pedestal Desk - Fully Assembled

I have to say that I rarely give anything 5 stars but this is really a great piece of furniture. It is well made with quality, good size, good functionality, and helps tremendously with organization.You don't have to do any work putting anything together since it comes assembled as one piece right to your door. It was very difficult moving this upstairs into my bedroom though, it weighs over 200lbs I believe. Just make sure you have some relatives or friends around to help you move this thing, it is not a one man job!The desk itself:It is sturdy and good quality, does not feel cheap at all. The drawers open and close very smoothly and align perfectly.The left side of the desk contains 3 drawers: one top drawer that contains dividers for organizing pencils, pens or anything else (great feature)one middle drawer for more storage, and the bottom drawer serves as a filing cabinet to store your folders and files. It also comes with a key so that you can lock the filing cabinet bottom drawer.The right side of the desk opens as one large drawer for storing your computer or something else. It is not 3 separate drawers, but just made to look that way from the outside for appearance of symmetry/aesthetics. There is a sliding shelf inside that slides all the way out.The middle drawer is also large with ample space for more storage. The edge of the drawer also folds out, to give you one flat continuous piece probably for a keyboard. Again, nice feature to have.All in all I would definitely recommend this piece to anyone. It is absolutely worth it for the price in my opinion, and should last quite a long time.

Here are the negatives as I see them: (I tried to take pics but they are too hard to see)1. Took a very long time to receive it.2. The outside desk material is VERY soft-scratches easily & worse yet, pieces on trim area have knocked off. I have tried using a cover stick to no avail. I have tried gluing a piece back & awaiting results.3. The desktop is VERY sensitive to scratches. Be sure to get a good/large cover or have a piece of glass cut. (I got a quote of $300! for glass)4. I expected 3 lateral files but got only two. Read description carefully & qualify. Description & reality don't always agree & it changes.The pluses:1. It's nice looking although a bit darker then I anticipated2. The companion 3 drawer lateral file is really nice & doesn't seem to have same issues as desk but of course, it's not used the same way.3. The drawer organizers are really nice for my purposesThat said, I'd probably & may still return it but that's such a hassle and there is little to choose from other than desks that are extremely expensive & those that look like they belong in a work office. Soooo...buyer be aware!

beautiful desk. the only reason I didn't give this 5, the top finish of this desk is so shiny and delicate, it scratches super easy. had to get desk mats for it and dont place things on the desk without a coaster, etc. otherwise, it is a very solid piece of furniture. be prepared to have to uncrate this after shipment, it is not in home delivery. can be done with a crowbar and then placing the desk box onto a wheel dolly. you need 2 people.

Since it's fully assembled and the size fit my small bed room, so I placed an order, but the quality is not nearly as good as what I expected, it's not made with solid wood or veneer, the paint is not smooth, does not look elegant at all. very disappointed. the shipping crew is very responsible though, since it's so heavy, so I can not return it. very sad for made the purchase

It was hard to find a computer desk for my home office that a) fit through a standard door coming in through a hallway with limited space to maneuver and b) that is attractive and doesn't look like a computer stand. c) that is well made. This desk fit the bill! It is sturdy and beautiful in my home office.A few things to note:The color of desk is Expresso which is a very dark wood. The warm brown tones are lovely under a light, but in low or indirect light the color appears like the darkest brown, almost black. Although the desk is much darker than in the picture, I think it looks very elegant and am very happy with the color. I really like the nickel hardware. The transitional style blends well with my other traditional style bookshelves even though they are a walnut wood with brass hardware.So nice that the desk comes assembled. All you have to do is screw on the handles.The compartment on the right is symmetrical to look like the working drawers on the left, the bottom of which is a file cabinet with rod for hanging folders. The door to the right has a shelf inside which can be adjusted to various heights.The lock/key for the file cabinet drawer on the left did not work, and I was sent a replacement. I have not yet had the lock changed, so I don't know how easy it is to change it.If you have a computer tower that you plan to put in the compartment to the right, measure first. With room for the wires in back of the tower, mine didn't fit and I have it on the outside of the desk. Still, I was able to put other peripherals in that compartment, and so all turned out well. The printer sits on top of the desk where it is accessible and actually looks sharp next to the monitor.The description mentions a convertible pencil drawer, but there is no pencil drawer. You can see hardware in the third picture of what appears to be a lever to open the pencil drawer which apparently is for an older model desk.I did find a defect in manufacturing, a sort of bubble in the finish of the drawer, and I am asking for a replacement flap.Despite these things I mentioned, I liked this desk so much that I ordered the vertical file cabinet to go with it.Martin Furniture is in California (furniture is made in Mexico) and is Phase 2 compliant (the strictest to date) for Proposition 65. Nice to know that it won't be off-gassing fumes like most other furniture out there!So glad to have this desk in a room where I spend a great deal of time. Certainly is worth the investment!
