Sony WI-XB400 Extra Bass Wireless In-Ear Headphones - Blue

After many rabbit holes and trying a few others, I settled on these Sony Extra Bass earphones. They used to have several others in this range but it seems that this is the last one that they still manufacture, which is a shame as it's much better than earphones double their price. I originally settled on some Bowers & Wilkins ones which were a £100 but was so disappointed with them that I returned them. The volume didn't go very high and the bass was thin, plus they were heavy. These Sony ones really pack a punch, with great sound and you can turn them up nice and loud. But the best thing on them is the bass which has some real grunt without drowning the rest of the field out. I am presuming that the 12mm drivers make the critical difference here. The phone mic is also very loud and clear according to those who I have tested it on. They are also nice and light and seal into your ears without the usual extra fittings you get with other earphones. Had no problems on my jog and they were very comfortable. The battery life is also excellent, I've been using them for several days now and it still has a full charge. Altogether the best earphones that I have tried for a long time and better than earphones that are more than double their price. Very happy with them.

I had to buy a bt headphone for listening music (mainly) at night in the bed before sleeping. The audio jack in my mobile is not working properly, makes cracking noise and it is not always stereo. I am quite surprised how good is this in ear headphone from Sony. Very good audio quality, very good bt connection, never drops. Battery life is also excellent. It is a breeze to set it up. I am not sure about the calling quality ... and so on as I only use it for listening music. Also this is quite comfortable in the ear. Recommended bt in ear phones!

Ok. Reviews can be subjective so it's sometimes easier to give you an idea of what other devices I have. - I already have EX650ap. Great earphones but lacked bass but was great for call quality. - I have the XB900N. Excellent bass and decent call quality. In terms of quality and soundstage these are not as good as the EX650ap on clarity and not as good as the XB900N on bass. But it seems to be a perfect blend of both earphones for me. I really do enjoy listening to these and because I am a bit of a basshead, these have replaced my EX650ap as my earbuds of choice when going out and about. Unfortunately, the XB900Ns are my "at home" choice but those are £100 more and over ear. The cable seems long at first but you really don't notice it during normal use. It stays around my neck most of the day but can easily be scrumpled up and thrown into a pocket. USB C is a great and welcomed addition. Shame it doesn't have NFC though. Call quality is important to me and this is where I would describe these as "adequate". Callers complain that my voice is slightly "distant" but it does the job. They work fine with a quiet background but you will need to raise your voice when out and about. The positive is that these don't have the noise cancelling microphones that other wireless earbuds have that try to isolate your voice against background noise. Those systems just make you sound artificial but also make the situation worst. These have a much similar system so your voice sounds a lot more natural and normal.

For the price - just great. Good battery life, good fit, lightweight, easy setup and use. Mic could be better or at least closer to mouth, as it picks lots of surrounding noise. I am no businessman and rarely do any calls whilst walking around, so it does the job for me for short calls. Also i am not one of those wannabe audiophiles, thus not complaining about sound quality. It is loud enough, got some decent bass, overall sound is great as well. Good buy.

These are very good headphones,lightweight,great sound and comfortable.When not listening to music you can leave them around your neck with the magnet holding both phones together.I have them around my neck from 6 in the morning till 6 at night.They last all day and I recharge them at night.Fantastic piece of kit and worth the money,and there well built and solid.

I've been trying to find some Bluetooth earphones to replace my Bose Soundsports (the sound level and battery charge was failing), but can't find anything that fits the bill for under £200, so started to look further down the list. Was sceptical that a £45 pair would be as good as a £120 pair. So opened the box very carefully as thought I would be sending back. I was wrong. Sound quality is easily as good as the Bose pair, rich deep, warm bass and clear top notes. You don't get the case and other fancy bits with it, but am totally satisfied with them, a bargain.

Waited a good month before deciding to leave my thoughts on this Sony Wireless earphone because I wanted to have enough usage to warrant a proper review, I think that's fair because I purchased this unit after reading other owners reviews. Anyway here's my honest thoughts... Pro's - great design & build quality - navy colour makes it look really classy - the sound is crystal clear - Battery lasts about 12 hours on medium volume - good range (usually leave my phone on charge in one room & listen to music via earphones from different rooms of my home) - lightweight & comfortable, you hardly notice it until you walk about - mic is pretty good so great for bluetooth conversations (no background noise cancelling-I prefer it like that) - tangle-free wire so never have to spend time untangling it before use Con's - the 2 batteries, one connected to mic, volume control etc. & other on the other side are really light weight and move around the shoulder if you move about, I think this is due to the short cable - Upon connecting a voice reads out battery remaining percentage but not actual percentage just 100%, 70%, 50% & finally at 30% the voice tells you to charge. Would have been great if I could get these prompts at 10% or 5% - take 3 long hours to charge from 0 to 100% - not waterproof so steer clear of the rain.

Sony headphones fantastic, Amazon not saying they are second hand on the main page unbelievable box was smashed and taped together should make it clear they are seconded hand not happy with Amazon. one star for Amazon not being honest.
