Original Mesh Filter Was Too Thick...Service and Replacement was extremely Helpful, Fair and Efficient.
*** I originally left only 1 star so people who are not satisfied with the fit of the mesh filter will know that they will get great service in rectifying the problem. Advertised as a perfect fit for the 'Aeropress. It was too thick and didn't come close to fitting. All the advice on how to make it fit involved altering the original structure of the Aeropress itself. I contacted Aeropress at: info@aeropressmetalfilters.com and they informed me "Some (about 5%) have a really tight locking system and won't fit our filter." However they said that they redesigned a filter to make it thinner to fit the tighter locking systems and offered to send me two filters to replace my one filter. I informed them that I was now living overseas and the said they would incur the extra shipping charge to send the filter. I received my replacement filter, PLUS a free extra one to compensate for my troubles. It fits perfectly and gives me the desired results of a more intensely flavored coffee. A few things impressed me with this company: 1) They were willing to redesign and manufacture a new filter, although it would apply to only 5% of their units. I would think that they would increase their quality control and assure that all their Aeropresses would conform to a single standard. Thus, once the new filter was sent out to the few customers who needed them, they would be scrapped. A cost that Aeropress was willing to incur to satisfy their customers. 2)From their prompt and fair service, it appears that Aeropress is concerned about their customers' satisfaction after they have purchased their product. 3) Finally, something I have always been satisfied with; the resulting coffee using the Aeropress with the paper filters is the best homemade coffee I have ever experienced drinking. Only in a few coffee shops have I had better coffee and at $3 (2 Euros) a cup, they weren't that much better. Especially considering that they were probably using a machine costing upwards of $6,000. So, all I need to do while traveling is find good coffee beans after 3-5 days after being roasted, pure water and a good vessel to boil the water. I like drinking my coffee black and believe that the oils and the slight sediment the screen will let through makes my coffee taste that much satisfying to my taste.

Perfect fit.
We were having a hard time sourcing the paper filters. My local stores weren't keeping them in stock. This works perfectly, no after taste. No harder to clean than a French press filter.

Perfect!
Fits my AeroPress like a glove and makes the perfect cup of coffee every time. We use an AeroPress for travel but having to keep track of filters in a pain and sometimes they are forgotten or run out while we're away. This filter means having a good cup of coffee anytime, anywhere without the need to worry about whether you remembered to replace the filters that you ran out of... I got it at the same time as the AeroPress and am not looking back!

Works well but be careful—it's delicate
For several years I used a different kind of metal filter, one of the stiff flat ones with a billion tiny holes in it. It did a good job but I always had to fight with it to get the coffee through those tiny holes. It usually took a lot of effort. Now it takes WAY less effort to push the coffee through the mesh. That's a relief. One downside is that the mesh is delicate. It's already wrinkling a bit even though I've been careful with the filter. Make sure not to bend it too much. I'm guessing that eventually I'll do something wrong and tear the mesh and will have to replace it. But that isn't a deal-killer considering how well it works with the Aeropress. I noticed that the coffee is a bit stronger and slightly more harsh through this mesh filter. It's probably letting more of the oils through than the older filter. Because of this I've been able to reduce the "steeping" time by a full minute to get the same strength I'm used to. You should probably clean the filter right after using it. I never had to do that with the older metal filter, but I think the mesh could get clogged a bit unless you clean it right away.

Long lasting, worth every penny.
I have had this same stainless-steel filter for my AeroPress which gets plenty of use since 2021, hasn't broke and shas no staining on it, sometimes I forget to wash it and most of the times when I do wash, it's just a simple rinse off with water. Would recommend for anyone getting an AeroPress, you won't regret it, what you will regret is getting paper filters

The best espresso
It is true that the water runs too quickly through the mesh, as other reviewers have said. I bought the filter because I was into cold brew and used the aeropress to filter out the grounds after it had steeped. I had to make two pours of the steeped coffee and disassemble and clean the press between pours or it clogged and splurted coffee everywhere. I thought a filter like this would work better for that purpose, but it doesn't. Also, I was drinking more decaf and wanted a clear way to distinguish between filters used for decaf and those used for regular espresso. All that said, once I figured out how to make hot coffee using this filter it is so spectacular that I have not yet returned to cold brew! My secret: I tilt the press as it sits in my coffee cup, measure the water using the plunger and have the stirrer in my hand as I add the water. Tilting the Aeropress lets the grounds steep long enough, even though it is only maybe ten to twenty second longer. The flavor is full-bodied, winey and so rich that, for the first time in my life, I stopped adding cream because it detracted from the outstanding espresso experience. I love that the filter is so easy to clean (I use a dish brush to get under the edge of the rim). Much better coffee than with the paper filter. Can't compare to the other Altura filters because this is the only one I've tried. It seems to be very well-made and I am hoping to get years of use from it.

Upside down brewing.
It works well so far. I've had it for a month. The only problem is you have to use it upside down, which is weird. You have to flip it over every time.
