The taste and texture is the same as they used to be but the appearance of M&Ms these days is awful. They often have broken candy shells. They are covered in ugly brownish spots due to an inconsistently thick and too thin candy coating. Their sizes vary widely including tiny pieces, indicated the peanut quality is much lower and cheaper than they used to be,Peanut M&Ms are just plain ugly these days and look very very cheap but they are still delicious.

I am the world's biggest chocolate lover. A friend got me hooked on these several years ago and I just figured out I could get them thru Amazon and set up subscription for them. I have to tell you though, I kept having to change the arrival date so they would arrive faster. If you buy the regular size bag thru Amazon (1.4 oz) the cost is $2.08 and $1.49 PER ounce. This bag is 34 oz costing $14.84 and $.44 PER ounce. I did the math, you would have to buy 24 of the 1.4 oz packs which would come to $49.92. Sounds like a good value to me. After buying several times I can truthfully say I never had an issue with them NOT being fresh.

All I can say is "I'm hooked." These things are so addicting. And being as I am a peanut butter/chocolate connoisseur (please note sarcasm) I can without any hesitation, wholeheartedly recommend these little jewels of pure pleasure. Enjoy. I know I will.
