Received in a rolled up in a plastic bag not a retail package, anybody else have this issue? not giftable imo

Mine arrived in good condition. It was just like you purchased at a retail store. Was folded nicely and in a clear bag. Was definitely brand new.

I’m 5’9” 170. What size should I order?

I'm 5'8" and weigh about 195 lbs. I bought a size L and it fits, a little bit tight on me however it is fine. L would probably be a good size for you.

does it shrink after washing? I won't dry it in a dryer.

No, Carhartt Men's Base Force Midweight Classic Crew will not shrink after washing.

Is there a model with less plastic in it? like 80% or better wool or cotton?

The Force Midweight Cotton Base Layer Crewneck Top is made of 100% cotton. You can find it on Amazon by searching "Carhartt MBL148."
