Disney Before the Story: Mulan's Secret Plan

A story about a young Mulan going to a special class to prepare her for being a life skills. At first she's excited but quickly becomes discouraged when this class becomes more of a contest pitting her against the other girls. They have to do all sorts of tasks from brewing the best tea, cooking the best bowl of rice, embroidery, and the best painting. To make it worse one of the girls is a cheater. If they are going to do any learning then they best do it their own way. Mulan has to convince the other girls to team up and turn the tables on the teacher and give all their families honor. During this time her father is away at war. I wish there were more books like this about Mulan.

A nice and simplistic Disney short story prequel starring the Hero of China herself: Fa Mulan! It has a great moral and Mulan is cute as ever!

She had been begging me to find these, but the library didn't have it. She loves the stories in the early Disney princess years. Mulan being a favorite.

It is a very good lesson to teach children.. I highly recommend this book. Also the photos are very nice.

Great little book for value

I loved this story of Mulan as a little girl attending beginning matchmaking classes with her friends. Mulan just wants to be able to go to school and learn like the boys, but is excited about being able to go to class. These classes are not as exciting as Mulan thought that they would be, but Mulan and her friends plan to make the best of it. A cute early elementary chapter book about making friends and learning from one another.

demands this book be read before bed. As a 31 year old man I can't say I'm as in to the book as she is but I'm sure she rates it high enough for the both of us to give it 5 stars.

Cute quick read that follows the story line of Mulan. This is placed when she is younger and new characters are introduced as friends!
