HathawayClassic Floor Billiard Pool Cue Rack

So, first off, this rack is really cheaply made. Description says "Handcrafted from solid hardwood" but it's particle board with cheap veneer. It's poorly packaged and heavy, so it was damaged when WalMart shipped it to the previous buyer. She returned it, manufacturer then apparently sent it to Amazon without inspecting for damage - so my time is wasted returning a damaged unit. The old invoice was still in the box, hi L***** B**** from Carrolton Tx, lucky you only paid $88.99 when I paid Amazon $100.97 and they shipped me your reject. Yep, I'm not a happy Amazon customer today.

I was not expecting a lot for an inexpensive item like this but I am disappointed. When I open the box in the living room they SMELL hit me first. Really bad chemical smell. I just spent the last few weeks applying oil/varnish to a railing and that smell was not nearly as bad as the smell coming from this rack, wife had to go to a different room. There is a label on the shelf that states it complies with California emissions laws, but I highly doubt that is true. There are Dado joints on the up-rights to secure them to the shelves which is good, but they are sloppily made, even for an inexpensive piece like this, the dados are about 1/8" over sized which means they do not lock in place. When you screw the uprights into the shelves, it does become fairly stable though. The dado cuts are very rough with a fair amount of splinters, like maybe they should change their saw blades every thousand boards they cut? The bottom of the shelves are unvarnished, not a big deal as you don't see that in practical use but maybe that is where the smell is coming form? I took the unit outside to air it out. I'll check it in a week to see if it is tolerable to bring back inside.

There was no included Allen wrench and one of the screw wholes didn't have an insert and I was sent wrong color. The color was fine because I actually wanted it but it cost more. My husband just glued the part of the leg with the messed up imsert and it is fine although I shouldn't have had to do that.

This is just what we were looking for. It's small and the color is as pictured. We wanted something nice but small for our playroom pool table and this is just what we wanted. Looks nice quality and sturdy without overwhelming the space. Recommend!

It's beautiful and very good quality. I think the instructions are wrong though. Make sure the little legs are on the bottom of the unit. This is a really nice product for any game room!

Beautiful Rack! My father loved it. It's narrow, so it doesn't take up much space. My mother didn't want anything hanging on the wall - this was a great solution.

You get what you pay for. Very easy to assemble. Looks great except some pieces came already damaged (pics attached). Probably would have happened eventually since it’s particle board, and should be an easy fix with a wood stain pen but disappointed it came damaged.

I put it together in about 10 minutes. Very nice, dark, rich finish. Solid wood, sturdy, and blends well with my game room décor. Once assembled, looks much more expensive than its purchase price. I'm very happy with my choice.

The unit arrived in perfect condition, was easy to assemble and looks good next to my pool table.
