Cap Barbell Cast Iron Competition Kettlebell Weight

I started using kettlebells 5 months ago to rehab a shoulder injury, and I've finally outgrown my beginner 35lb and stepped up to this one in 44lb. My beginner KB was purchased locally at a big box retail store, and it got the job done but is noticeably inferior to this one. This CAP KB has a better, more durable finish and a superior shape. My old KB has a raised edge around the cast-in number that sometimes would dig uncomfortably into my forearm, whereas this KB is nicely rounded and much more comfortable. I also appreciate the nicely shaped and wide handle on this one, as I have large hands and in a two handed grip I need more handle than my old KB had. Overall it's not as nicely finished as the Dragon Door or other more expensive KBs out there, but a nice step up from the cheap ones.Pros:Good grip shape and size for larger hands.Durable finish with a just right, not-too-slick feel.Comfortable shape.Very reasonable price with shipping included.Cons:Slight excessive roughness and bits of flashing on the handle that I took care of with a little filing and sanding.Edit at 9 Months: I now have two of these in 44lb and a 53lb. The finish on the 44lb is chipped in a few spots from banging them together, but other than that they look new. The 2nd 44lb and the 53lb have perfect handles that required no smoothing, so I'm quite happy with these and still consider them to be the best value around for quality you get.

I had been looking for a 35-lb kettlebell for a while, to add some additional work to my gym programming. We have a few different brands at the gym, I find some handles to be too thick, and others have a handle that is thinner but wide enough that it hits my legs at the bottom of a swing. A few also have a very rough seam under the handle that can get irritating over the course of many reps, and other have a glossy finish that gets slick if you're sweating. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this product. And since it was a daily deal (and I have Prime for shipping) the price was unbeatable. The matte finish has very slight texture, not enough to feel rough but not so smoothly it's slick. There are no seam lines on the handle and for me it's exactly the width and thickness I would want. As an average sized female I can easily use this for two hand swings with my pinky fingers only wrapping slightly over my ring fingers. The color system would be great in a gym, much more durable than the tape system used at our gym. Since it's only for my personal use it wasn't essential, but if I invest in a 45 lb at some point, it will be easy to differentiate. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for a kb.

These kettlebells are very well put together. The finish is nice, it's got enough grip that it doesn't slip from my hands when they get sweaty but not too much that it's uncomfortable or rough on my hands. I prefer this finish to the epoxy finish that I've tried previously as the epoxy finish has a few drawbacks. The first being that when the finish is still intact it can get slippery when I get sweaty. The second is that over time as the finish wears or chips off it gets uncomfortable and less desirable to use. It's also nice that the CAP kettlebells are color coordinated as it makes it easy to identify the weight that I'm looking for.

Shaped correct, balanced, no rough spots or burrs. Seems duarable. Better than I expected for the price. I did not check to see how accurate the weight of the bell is as I'm not a competitor and don't care. I like the color code for easy weight identification. I'd recommend to anyone looking to try kettle bells cheaper sand filled ones or other options would not give you the same experience. If you already use kettle bells I would still recommend unless you are willing to pay more for the ones with flat angled sides or cool faces in them.

Excellent kettlebell. Best value by far. Doesn't let you brag about it's status like a sculpted one from onnit or the cache of rogue but here's what it gets right.Powder coat has great feel and I think it will hold chalknice day grip but you can find wider if you need it.Color accents on horn for quick pick during high tempo routines.Also, it looks like the colored bands follow same convention as other brands.Beginners - buy this onecompetitors- train with this one and keep your sculpted ones for show.Lastly the price- this was less new than garbage kettlebell from a used sporting good store.

Just like the cast iron kettle bells at the gym. Delivered in perfect condition although the first order was “undeliverable.” Bought 2 of these to help with rehab of lower body post-op & will be purchasing all the other sizes soon!

I have 2 of the 35 lb bells. There are other comparable bells out there but these are great for the price. I use my 2 35's for long cycle and racked squats. The reason for 4 stars is the powder coat is a little weak but decent overall. My only other complaint is the finish is also a bit coarse which has caused some issues with caloused hands. I train with bells at least 4-6 per week. When snatching they can be a bit rough on your hands. When these are $40 shipped they are a fantastic deal!!!Bells are weighted as advertised within 1%. I weighed them on my bathroom scale.

Me parece un excelente producto, porque tal cual cumple con la calidad que buscaba. Aunque está hecha en China como tantos productos hoy en día, en mi opinión es un artículo que cumple con un estándar de calidad para un mercado americano. Definitivamente, no es un producto chino corriente como otros.Me gusto que tiene la base plana, por lo que no se desplazará al colocarla en el piso. Su peso viene especificado tanto en kilos como libras, lo cual evita confusiones.Lo que no me gusto tanto, es que estuviera recubierta en pintura electrostática/pintura en polvo (lo que le llaman powder coating), porque siento que aveces con el tiempo ese tipo de pintura se queda impregnada en las manos, pero con el uso me daré cuenta si esto sucede o no nada que ver, aunque es bastante común que utilicen este tipo de pintura en metales.Le recomiendo este producto a quien tenga ganas de ponerse no solo en forma, sino fuerte, ya que es un ejercicio muy completo lo que se puede llevar acabo con este tipo de pesas.

None of the places around me had kettlebells in stock, so thank you internet. Good price per pound and pretty good casting. A small blemish on the handle that's slightly rough (but it isn't really noticeable in use) with a speck of missing finish that will hopefully not flake and get bigger any time soon. The powder coating is much better than an enamel one for grip texture and dealing with sweat.*Closing in on a year later and the finish is going strong and is in the same condition as when I first got it

Good cast with no rough spots jutting out and the powder coat finish gives it a nice texture to help maintain grip while sweating.
