Magic The Gathering Duel Deck - Jace vs Vraska

I've played both decks against each other and against other decks, I LOVE them! I'm glad I bought them now.

My only complaint is that it took twice as long to ship compared to the two to four days prime promises. However, the decks themselves are awesome. The Jace deck is excellent for the long term battle strategy and the Vraska deck is the perfect mix of life giving forest cards and opponent destroying swamp cards that it is just fun to play with. This is the first time I've ever owned the cards, but I've borrowed friends decks for years, these decks are also increasingly fun to play against each other, there are many cards that are more effective even when the duel deck is used one on one. For those of us that bought this for the Vraska deck, I only encourage that you look into cards that also help you build up mana or life because there are a few cards that cost life to use. Arrived at the specific time it was supposed to. The box was slightly beat up mainly on the corners but could just be due to shipping. Overall a great product enjoying the cards as we speak.

I liked that this was a self-contained package that allowed me to play a well balanced and yet fun game of Magic right out of the box. This duel decks is a great way to become acquainted with the Planeswalkers, as well as enjoy some one-on-one with your friends without having to invest a lot of money.

I had pre-ordered the duel decks a couple of days before the actual release date. I received an email stating that it was already heading my way a day before release, and it had arrived a day after the 14th of March. I have yet to test out the decks, but I'm sure the new artwork on some cards as well as the re-introduction of older printed cards through this deck will make it interesting to play with as well as collect.

If you think you might want enjoy "Magic The Gathering" but have yet to play it, get a Duel Deck pack, they've got everything you need for a game between two players, there's rules, there's tips on playing, and there's two decks that, whilst not "seriously" competitive, will give you a fun game. They're reasonably well balanced...but over time you'll probably find one deck winning more than the other.This Duel Deck is as good as any. The more recent ones have dice with them, but that's no big deal...

If found this pack a bit mixed in that it comes with loads of info on how to play, much more than you get with the 'Origins Clash Pack' making it better for new players, but the Plainswalkers cards (Jace & Vraska) add a level of complexity that might befuddle newcomers. I guess you could just remove the Plainswalkers from the deck until you feel more confident though. The decks seem pretty well balanced, my son (13-years old) and I had a great time with them :) I've marked down 1 star because as others have mentioned the product description claims it comes with 3 Assassin token cards, but there are in fact only 2.

As everyone says, dual decks are perfect for introducing new people to MTG, but they're also great for having a casual game with anyone, no matter what their level of interest or skill! Dual decks are created to compliment each other well and to balance out each other's strengths and weaknesses. No messing, no agonizing over your sideboard. Just play!

BEWARE: This set comes only with 2 Assassin token cards, unlike what is stated in the product's description (both Amazon and the deck box say it includes 3 cards). This seems to be an issue with the european version of this product. Not cool Wizards!!Also note that included deckboxes are for unsleeved cards.Otherwise seems to include a good selection of cards esp. for beginners and I look forward to playing it.

I knew what I was buying when I chose it and so as I wanted it, it came up to expectations.
