Lenox791845 Chirp 10.75" Dinner Plate

A tip if you love the Chirp pattern ( as I do) but are on a budget: these mix and match beautifully with white china plates of similar weight and quality.We inherited white bone china plates from family members but grew tired of having to jazz them up with varied napkins and placemats. Now we can use them with the Chirp pieces to accommodate our guests, with the Chirp pattern adding just the right accents and punch.DO enlarge the photo before purchasing the dinner plates so you can see how the white lowered center is enclosed by the higher colored border. You'll see that the actual space for food is small ( not unusual for fine round china with borders). .I love Chirp dishes for several reasons:1 I can use the dinner plates along with other Chirp pieces, including the  Lenox Chirp Tall Bowl  and  Lenox Simply Fine Chirp Salad/Luncheon Plate . Coordinating napkins, tablecloths and even placemats are available.By the way, if you purchase the tall bowl be aware that it is NOT ideal as a serving dish but actually soup or cereal sized. Our guests often get soup served in these.2. With the bowls and salad plates, the dinner plates will hold a main course and perhaps a regular portion of a side dish, making the dinner plates perfect for meals. Just plan your meals to include extra plates and bowls rather than trying to squeeze too much food on the dinner plates..3. I don't use these as every day plates. But I have to admit that even if these plates held a mountain of food I'd reserve them foe special occasions.4. I love the way they serve as decorative accents in a china cabinet when not in use. They add a cheerful touch to our dining space without being fussy. The pattern is so appealing.and you can find a wealth of coordinating accessories, from soap dispensers to place mats to dish towels. It always brightens my spirits to see these plates, especially on gloomy, dark and rainy days.5. They are microwave and oven safe. But I always hand wash them. Would love to hear from thse who use them in the microwave or oven regularly.

I initially ordered this set thinking the price was a set of 4 place settings, not just one setting with the 4 items: dinner plate, salad plate, bowl and cup. I was actually looking for something inexpensive and somewhat durable because we seem to replace our sets about once a year because they end up looking terrible with chips, cracks, or missing pieces that we have to throw away when they break entirely. However, when it arrived and I realized my mistake I really loved how attractive they were as well as their guarantee not to chip or crack, so I went ahead and ordered a few more settings to try them out.We have a dishwasher that eats dishes - pretty much every set we've had before has had chips and cracks within a couple of weeks and looked terrible within 6-9 months. (The dishwasher isn't some cheap crappy one either, it's a Miele...) Anyways, the chirp dishes were holding up quite well - no chips or cracks or anything odd, so we went ahead and bought enough of everything for 8 place settings.We've now has this set just shy of a year and not one chip, crack, or anything to make them look any less than lovely. I now understand why my Grandma made such a big deal about bone china - this stuff is great! Our glassware continues to chip, crack and break in the dishwasher, so I know that these dishes aren't whole because the dishwasher settled down - it's definitely their quality. Now we're on a quest to find glassware that is equally durable.Summary: Lovely dishes, super durable, truly don't crack or chip, worth the cost.

I agree with other reviews that this is not really going to keep coffee hot as long as other tumblers, but my main use for it is to take my "mug" with me for a walk with a stroller (it fits in the cup holders) or a quick errand down the street. I prefer my coffee and tea in ceramic, and having a pretty tumbler like this on the go brings me joy. The insulation keeps my hand from getting hot, and the lid is great at preventing spills. My only issue is the capacity. If you use k-cups, it maxes at 10oz of liquid...like it will spill if your hand isn't steady moving it from the machine. If it could hold 10oz with just a little more room to avoid spillage I wouldn't complain. If it held 12oz comfortably, it would be perfect.

Beautiful pattern. You actually get 4 pasta bowls (which was a nice surprise), so this is actually a GREAT price for bone china... although I thought it felt a bit heavy for bone china though, so I'm not sure about the accuracy of that.

This is a great look but wished it was bigger.

I really like this mug. I was looking for a smaller travel mug, most are way too big for what I want. This fit perfectly. One of my requirements for a travel mug is a lid that's super easy to clean. I have lots of milk in my tea or coffee and if you can't clean the lid well, any milk that is stuck in there starts to smell really quickly, so I need to be able to clean it well. This lid is it. One simple flexible piece that doesn't have any unnecessary details. It's made of a flexible rubber that grips the ceramic cup well. I'm very happy with this mug and will likely get some as gifts.

Dishes arrived in perfect condition and they actually look more beautiful then in the pictures. I did have Corelle dishes before which are very light weight so they are so much heavier than I thought they would be. However, I have now gotten use to the weight difference. I love how on the bottom of the dishes there are bird decorations also. So very happy with them that I still enjoy washing dishes more so that I can enjoy looking at them!

Even though my initial impression of the mug is good, I can't assess yet. The problem is that the box clearly states dishwasher safe, however, the "use and care" instructions inside the box state hand wash only. I don't know which is correct. If the box is wrong, then the advertising is dishonest. I am waiting to hear back from Lennox.
