Great tire
Wonderful tire for single track riding, could be more aggressive for wet climbing however it gets the job done and can take some abuse.

good traction on most trails
Been riding it for a while, works well on most trails. Not great in borderline muddy trails but in most and dry it hooks up well.

Maxxis lives up to their reputation..
I'm reviewing the 26x2.40 Ardent. Been riding with Ardent 2.25 on front and rear for awhile. Put this 2.40 on my front and the cornering is just phenomenal! Not much more to add to all the reviews other than Maxxis is a great brand and the Ardent is wonderful on the North Florida trails I ride.

Replacing a slick style front tire for asphalt
On asphalt I’ll hit occasional dirt and sand covered areas and the previous slick tires would slide instantly in it. These grip through to the asphalt and I think they roll on asphalt just as fast as the slick tire. The only place the slick tire is better is on smooth concrete. The rear slick is replaced with the maxxim dth. Wish there was a tan wall for the ardent.

It wouldn't inflate
The tire did not inflate without a tube. I've been running tubeless for 10y+ and I've never had an issue before. The rim of the tire could not sit on the wheel rim. I tried everything.I ended up using a tube.Disappointed.
