Locakable 2-Way Livestock Junior Gate Latch

The Co-Line Lockable 2-Way Livestock Junior Gate Latch secures my yard containing nine intelligent dogs, and I must say, this product exceeded my expectations. The latch is incredibly well-built and provides a reliable solution for keeping my dogs safely contained within the yard. The two-way functionality adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that the gate remains locked and secure from both sides. This feature has proven to be invaluable, especially with many large dogs, as it prevents accidental escapes. Installation was straightforward, although I was disappointed that the bolts were not included. Despite this minor inconvenience, the latch itself is of such high quality that it overshadowed any initial frustration. Once properly installed with the necessary bolts, the gate latch operated seamlessly. The durability of the Co-Line Livestock Junior Gate Latch is impressive, standing up to the strength and intelligence of my canine companions. I appreciate the peace of mind it provides, knowing that my dogs are contained and secure within the yard. Overall performance and reliability of this gate latch make it a worthwhile purchase.

This latch works perfect on our farm gate. My son loves how easy it is to open and latch. Even with our high West Texas winds, the gate stays securely latched.

I really enjoyed this product, I had to return it because I couldn't get the other product I bought to work with it. However, this product is really easy to install and works as it sure.

Sturdy, well designed latch. Many commented on the lack of u-bolts or hardware for the post half of the latch- but I think this is because it's more likely this half will be installed on a wooden post, and that hardware won't be needed - just use lag screws. If you need U-bolts to mount that half on a chain-link fence post, you may want to look at pipe straps and standard 5/16 inch bolt options. I'm putting up pictures with the latch next to a measuring tape- since I had these questions when I purchased it.

This product is a total failure for my chicken run. The lock itself only came with hardware for the lock pin but not for the lock. I went to several hardware store to find the right parts and even purchase multiple options in case something didn’t work out. The holes for the hardware were oddly spaced so now of the hardware I purchased worked.Not only have I wasted money, weeks of time, the security of my chickens is compromised.This lock wouldn’t work on other metal gates I have either. Because hardware isn’t included.

Be forewarned that the big piece that goes on the latch side doesn't come w/ mounting hardware. Due to how wide the hole pattern is I couldn't find a u bolt wide enough yet short enough to fit. Ended up have to go back to town for metal pipe brackets- will go install but they are rather flimsy for such a heavy piece. Also frustrating is the bolts and nuts on the right hand (door side) are a 1/2" nut. Yet finding bolts for the heavy piece will either mean drilling out the thick metal or using a 1/4" diameter bolt. So while it may be a heavy unit it will either require drilling to hold a larger bolt, and still hoping the metal post fastners are strong enough when one of the dogs hits that gate. Very frustrating for the price and what I feel is an incomplete (not mentioned on the order page) product.

This is a well built latch, very high quality. I love how easy it is to use and how little force it needs on closing to latch. Super happy I found this. My gate frame is square metal so I had to do a little modification to make it work properly, but they advertise it as for round gate frames so I was aware of this.
