Scholastic Reader, Level 1: Noodles - I Love Rainy Days!

I bought this book because there was a special on it. I knew that it would be out of the age range for my granddaughter, but I figured I would save it for her. When I got the book, I took a look at it and read it quickly myself. I decided that I was not going to hold onto it until she was at the age range that it had stated (she is almost 3). I read the book with her and she LOVES Noodles, who is the mischievous young puppy in the story. The book is very well written. The illustrations in this book are just amazing and she giggles before I even turn the page. She can tell you the general story when she picked up the book. For a child that is almost 3, i think that the artwork, vibrant colors and character (Noodles) are all a part of what makes this such a great read. I would suggest adding it to an even lower age group as I believe it is a book that any child can learn and grow with. I may need to purchase another one just so that she will always have it. It is her "go to book for storytime with nanny" and I am very happy that I made the purchase. I will be ordering more books from this fantastic author very soon. This book will take her to the next level of reading as I feel she will be reading the story on her own before the age level for the book, and that is because of the wonderful layout and beautiful vibrant colors. She loves her rainy days book with Noodles.

Great books to start kids reading. Short sentences, funny, colorful.

Being an educator in my own right, I still took a long time in choosing books for my granddaughter's library. I reviewed dozens if not hundreds! The Noodles series provides short, entertaining stories with an easily understood 'moral' set against colorful and engaging backgrounds. Of all the books my granddaughter has, these books are her absolute favorites. We know this because she can 'read' them back to us almost word for word!

The fun illustrations make this early reader a book that will be enjoyed again and again! The little doggie is a real cutie!

Perfect for my kindergartner!

I happened to catch this book when it was just over a dollar. Very cute pictures and their are very few words just as you would expect with any first reader book.

Great books for my grandchildren who are learning to read.

Didnt enjoy the storyline. The pup keeps doing naughty stuff and it's difficult to explain to a toddler why that's ok... Phew!

This lovely dog is appealing to children.The level of English is perfect for English as a Second Language learners as well.
