Luxury Duvet Cover & Sham Set, 3 Piece, King/California King, White

We recently upgraded from a queen bed to a Cal King and needed a new duvet and duvet cover. After purchasing a duvet from Costco I searched Amazon to get an inexpensive cover. Take my review for what it is, because all my queen duvet covers are from West Elm and have lasted quite a while and they are my absolute favorite. But because I wanted something to ship fast so I could use my duvet, I found this on Amazon. It seems like a good cover so far. Kind of thin (of course compared to my other West Elm covers), and I was surprised to see that it came with a zipper enclosure instead of buttons, which I don’t mind either way. I’m a little nervous about getting any stains on it and to see how it holds up, but for $25 I think I made the right choice. I bought the white one so I can just bleach it if something is spilled on it or if my son happens to get something on it. It looks nice enough, but I wouldn’t say it looks fancy. It’s pretty basic but I knew what I was getting for the price.1/26/19 Update: the duvet seems to soak up stains. Stains come out after bleaching though. It just isn’t holding up like I’d like, but for the money it is okay. I noticed a thread that has made the duvet bunch up a little and I included a picture. Bottom line, I used this for a month and then went online and bought the west elm duvet that I really loved and has lasted me on my other bed. Also, it has two zippers and after the second wash one of the zippers broke. I’ll use this as a backup duvet cover but I’m kind of over it after such a short time.

this is a very nice duvet set. I did not use the shams, because I have standard size pillows, and they are for king-size pillows. anyway, I washed the duvet once It got here, and had a bit of trouble getting my king-size comforter into it. The dimensions on my comforter are 90X102, and I believe this is 90 X104.. so at first I had a good 6" of material loose on one end. so what I did was lay my comforter on the ground and put the duvet on top of it until the corners all were correct. Then once I inserted it, it looks nearly perfect. I say nearly, because you do get what you pay for, and $35 is a pretty good bargain, but again you get what you pay for. One side has buttons, while the other three sides are not as crisp on the edges so the comforter can wiggle around a little bit. and it is not as obvious where the creases are. this would probably be a nightmare to iron. this is perfectly acceptable for me, but I can see much more materialistic/snobby people thinking it may look "cheap". But again, it is fine for me. Getting the comforter into the duvet was quite tricky, and required much maneuvering. (I did it by myself) But it was possible :) One thing I must say though, even straight out of the packaging, it is extremely soft. And now my whole comforter is much heavier. This is definitely good for keeping you warm.

Normally I do not leave negative reviews, but in this case I was pretty disappointed with the product. I'm no stranger to "you get what you pay for". Some items I am willing to pay more for, but I am still very frugal as well and like to save where I can. Now with this being said, I was not expecting a duvet cover straight from a five star hotel bed or anything with this purchase, but I was expecting new, clean and decent. I opened the package once our new mattress finally arrived, excited to put new sheets and blankets on our brand new bed! When I opened the package that looked to be brand new (new smell and sealed packaging), I was surprised to find a dirty water spot the fresh white cover about the size of my hand and a black scuff mark. How in the world this was on brand new fabric was beyond me because it was sealed in a protective plastic with a zipper. I am not one that calls the company and yells at a manager to complain about something so I kind of sucked it up and figured it will come out in the wash and next time I'll try and find a better quality one for replacement, but for now this will do. As I unfolded the cover to wash proceed to wash it, I noticed the horrible seeing and fabric cutting job on it. Again, I know it's not supposed to be anything fancy, but it seems like these were not even looked at before shoving into the packages. I thought at first it must be wrong side out with how much extra uneven fabric was just hanging from the edges, but turns out it was not. It literally had uneven threading on 1/4 of the edges and extra fabric hanging from these areas ranging from 1/2"-2". It was pretty disappointing to me that whoever made it did not care to even trim the extra fabric let alone not see it the correct way like that rest of the cover was done. I am giving it 2 stars though because the fabric was super soft! That was the positive part of this cover. Maybe mine was just a horrible mistake that somehow no one noticed, but I definitely will not be buying this brand again. I would rather pay a few extra bucks and buy from a brand that takes pride in the hard work that goes into making these covers.*lighting is bad in the picture but you can see a big water stain of some sort right below the scuff.

I wanted a Duvet cover with buttons. Description says it has buttons but the one I received does not. It has a hidden zipper that is about 2/3 the size of the cover. Meaning the length if the zipper is not the full size of the cover. I didn’t have any issues getting the Duvet in the cover. It’s a good fit and after a week of use it seems to stay put.I washed this before using and it washed up nice.No wrinkles and it’s soft.Had I not washed this I would have returned because I really wanted a button closure.Didn’t notice it didn’t have buttons until I put it on my Duvet.I bought white and it’s a true bright white.Overall it’s a nice, soft, wrinkle free cover with a zipper.The seller needs to update the description.
