great deal and great product
When I most recently ordered this 12-pack of 30 oz Mcann's steel cut oatmeal, Amazon informed that it was the 14th time I had made this order. That is, I've ordered and consumed (with occasional help from my wife) 5,040 oz, which is 315 pounds. This is considerably more than my body weight in steel cut oatmeal. So, I guess you could say I like it . . . The quality of this oatmeal is outstanding, and buying it in this quantity is a fantastic deal. One last aspect of this package deal: way, way back when I first ordered the stuff, the packaging was really poor; cardboard tubes with poorly affixed bottoms and poorly attached tops. It was intended for a restaurant market, and was likely packaged on the assumption that it would be in large crates, as opposed to being tossed around by some UPS driver. As a result, one often got a shipping box that had containers that had broken open, with loads of oatmeal floating around the box. Whoever's handling this stuff now appears to have really paid attention to what must have been a large number of complaints; packaging of the containers gradually improved over the years, and my last 4-5 shipments have arrived in perfect condition, with no leakage/no problems. Nice that they pay attention to customer needs.

Very good, but prefer Red Mill.
Nice flavor but consistency is a bit watery. I prefer the crunchiness of Red Mill. Just my personal preference, many may like McCann better.

Broken canisters if cardboard
Great product , but five cane broken and spilled all inside the boxes had to throw them away

The right texture to cook in a rice cooker.
I bought a whole bunch of these to cook in a pressure rice cooker with other grains and beans. It worked out really well! The texture feels like rough rice - which is what I wanted - and tastes great.Speaking of the container, somebody mentioned that these are metal cans in one of the reviews, but they are not. They are paper canisters with soft plastic lid.

Good oat but too expensive.
We love the flavor of this oatmeal and have been buying it for a while, but a pack of 12 cans was $73.43 when we purchased it on April 28, 2015, and now it's $105. That's too big of a price increase.
