U.S. vinyl LP pressing. 2011 sophomore album from the Alt-Rockers. Emerging from Brooklyn via Florida in 2009, The Drums initially caught the ear of the indie world with their Summertime! EP. It was an escapist collection of beach pop fantasies; tracks suffused with a wistful, longing nostalgia that never pandered to cheap sentimentality. Their rise, particularly in the UK, was meteoric. Early buzz led to a prestigious spot on the BBC Sound of 2010 shortlist, followed in short succession by a slot on the Shockwaves NME Tour in 2009, and the publication's Phillip Hall Radar Award in early 2010, well before the album's release that summer. Review: Unexpected pleasure - I had never heard of this band before now and was completely surprised by how much I LOVED the entire album. The comparison to New Order got me interested (I'm an 80s girl) but The Drums lyrics and melodies are unique. At first run through the songs do sound somewhat similar, but be patient, you will notice the differences. Each song is catchy in it's own way. Totally sing-along-able and fun. Typically indie bands can lull me to sleep, but this record keeps me bouncing along to the beats, feeling alive and wanting more. I can not wait until the next one! Review: If you are new to the drums do yourself a favor and listen to this album you won't regret the time wasted but will be listening this on repeat - Incredible album! If you are new to the drums do yourself a favor and listen to this album you won't regret the time wasted but will be listening this on repeat. Also if you are looking for the vinyl hurry up and get it, since desertcart just did a restock of them and I have to say it's just beautiful and i'm speechless with the amount of talent and production it went into this album.

holy crap is this album good
A friend told me he read about these guys in a random magazine from Britain and that they are worth the listen... holy crap is this album good. It's kind of a lighter indie pop sound with catchy riffs and guitar. Think Black Keyes if they became a pop band... kind of? Sorry I'm not good at describing music but I like it!

Fantastic and very original music. The beat centric rhythms are amazing woven through the music. A must buy.

I don’t know how to.. write a review for this.
Well it was christmas and i wanted to buy my girlfriend something but i didn’t have any money.. so i got this for her. Not sure if that makes me hard to love but oh well i said please don’t leave and go out in the cold. I wanted to keep it wrapped and preserved for days but she wanted to play it right away.. i said whatever if she likes it let her do it. if you’re searching for heaven you’ve found it here.. record came well packaged with no warps.

Solid album, don't pass this one up
I bought this album after hearing the track "money" on local college radio. All the other tracks are so good I still have the album loaded up in my car. Awesome album form start to finish. I a definetly going to buy The Drums other albums.

Wonderful
The songs are all very similar sounding... but wonderful. Very excellent for easy-listening, driving, background music, etc. My favorites have to be "Days" and "Money" but I also enjoy "Book of Revelations."
