Honeywell951WG-WH Stubby Recessed Magnetic Contact Switch

I ordered this sensor for my alarm system unsure if it would work on my system or not. When I installed it it worked. Im unsure of the brand of my system, but the description of the product gave me enough information I thought it would.Easy to installEasy to useFunctioned well

Bought this replace a cheap failed reed switch. It got stuck on - closed. My application has a wide gap but within the stated limits. This one cost more than 5 of the cheapies - and is working perfectly so far. Worth it.

Works like it should, used it in my garage entry door.

Okay I got this to replace one that we had accidentally drilled through. But still couldn't get it to work. It turns out that the alarm company had installed the (ELR) end of resistor right next to it and it got damaged to. It worked as intended.

While having some home improvements done one of my alarm sensors was damaged. I think it was installed at the very end of its wires, so moving the sensor put more strain on them and they failed AT the device itself.This is the exact part that the alarm installer used when the house was built, so it works exactly like the part it replaced. I had to be a little creative in connecting the wires to the existing wires, but it was pretty straightforward.The best part of this product is that it is EXACTLY the part I needed. It is also well priced.

Worked fine. Great value and quick delivery.The carpenter repairing one of our window sills caused enough vibration for our sensor to fail. I pulled it out and soldered one of these in place. [Be sure to clean wires well.... there's probably some corrosion.] No problem (several months ago) and it sure beats a $100 service call from the alarm company.I have to confess that the brand name was a factor in my choice because you want reliability, but who knows if these are any different than the generic ones I ordered at the same time? They LOOK identical, but the innards are invisible and important so I suggest the Honeywell name gives some comfort to Management (ahem).One hint: put silicon sealer around these when you put them in.... you don't want water leaks around your window and my alarm wiring showed unusual corrosion so I'm guessing improper sealing of my original sensor contributed to the carpenter's 'event'.

I replaced one of my doors and hadn't considered what I was going to do with the alarm sensor. Uh-oh! I studied the one in the old door, and I determined this was the closest thing to what was there before, so I took the plunge.Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing, but I thought I could figure out the wiring and make it work. I was more concerned with drilling a bad hole in my brand new door--too large, or not lined up with the other sensor.Not to worry. It was close enough (as other reviewers have mentioned, the magnet seems strong). And the wiring was correct. The alarm works. And it cost me less than ten dollars.

This magnet-activated switch is a little tricky, but works in a pinch. Circuit closes when the base gets within an inch or so from the leads. Magnets do not resist separation very much.
