Florida's Birds: A Field Guide and Reference

Nice photos and descriptions.

This is a nice book and it's made well too. It will surely stand up to field use. The binding is sewn, so you won't have to worry about it splitting. The cover is semi-hard as well and there is a nice inside reference flap on each cover.

It is an outstanding guide to Florida's varied and magnificent birds. There is a quick guide in the back with pictures that make it easy to find the bird you have just seen and are trying to identify. Along with the picture are 2 reference numbers, one to a larger picture of the bird and the second number refers to another picture with several paragraphs about the bird, where found, habitat, different plumage, mating habits and many details. The pictures are all in color and are beautiful. I have had many bird books through the years and this is one of the best.

Pictures are so pretty, lots of information. I wish it had a away to make the birds I have seen. Excited to find them all!

If you live in Florida this is the perfect book to have! I go for about an hour long walk every morning and come home and check out what I saw in the book.

We like to feed the birds and squirrels while we eat lunch on our porch. Problem is that we get to wondering what kind of birds are visiting us. (Same old squirrels every day, don't need a book on that). This book (along with a couple of others) has helped us to recognize our friends although I suspect that the birds don't care what they are being called so long as we provide the birdseed.

My husband and I have recently started feeding the birds in our yard and became interested in knowing which birds we were looking at. We bought this book because the reviews were so good, and rightly so. We just got it a few hours ago and have already named 7 bird types enjoying our feeders.This has been a wonderful find.
