One of the sheets of wood is warped and it has the side wall. I have contacted the manufacturer with no response. Can I wet the wood down and press it

Sucky wood great overal house kits!

This is my second Greenleaf Kit. The first kit made me want to just give up & find a new hobby! But after searching forums I got all the visual I needed to just about be done with the Magnolia. I wish I would’ve done this one first. The direction aren’t that great but this is a pretty straight forward house! I finally got the double hung window concept! This house I got to do with kids & grandkids but I’m thinking about getting this for just me! But here’s a list of issues I found since doing Greenleaf kits: 1. Instructions are horrible. 2. The wood is pretty thin, breaks easily & splinter terrible! 3. Also the wood layer cut sheets are different color, which isn’t that horrible since it’ll be painted. Now the things I truly like about this company & will be purchasing more kits.1. The homes are very beautiful! Not all boring box type homes! 2. USA product! So yes I truly think for the money you can deal with some minor issues since the overall look is a gorgeous house! I’m still waiting on my shingles for the Magnolia that amazon said was included & after contacting the company I have not received!***edit*** I recieved my shingles the day I wrote this review!!

Cute dollhouse

Very cute dollhouse, I build it like a Christmas cottage! Yes, it's a lot of work to get a nice finish (sanding, squaring...) but it's worth it...

Good little houses.

I have bought several of these houses and the condition of the wood differs from time to time. It all depends on if you feel it is worth the extra work you have to do to fix problems that come along with different kits. I find the challenge makes me more creative . For the price they are well worth it for the completed size. This does not come put together , you do all the work. Sanding , painting, gluing together and wallpapering if so desired. (Purchased extras not provided) You get the house only not anything more.

This is great IF you have made a model before

I had a blast making this kit, took me about a month working on it here and there. This will be a difficult kit if you haven’t made any models before. I would recommend trying a rolife and something of the sort to get you comfortable with poorly outlined directions and thin plyboard. Only complaint is I was missing two pieces, the lining board for the side of the house and the interior bay window frame. You will need a exact knife for the smaller cutouts and a hot glue gun for the shingles. I am really happy with how it turned out.

Very Poor Quality

The good part-the design is cute and the instructions are good. The bad part is the wood! The die cut is only a light impression on top of the wood. The parts will not punch out. You will spend LOTS of time with an Exacto knife cutting parts out of very hard wood. They’ll still splinter so get lots of sand paper and maybe wood filler. Also, most of the wood is warped so assembly is extremely difficult. All this affects the looks of the finished house. I bought this to make for my granddaughter but it will probably only make it to a top shelf somewhere. Lastly, save yourself some money. Hobby Lobby sells these for $35. My bad. Didn’t check that out.

Just be mindful

It's easy to assemble depending on your skill level, However once its assembled it feels very rewarding, and being able to decorate it is as also very amusing, I've chosen to leave mine plane and just add a few flowers here and there but otherwise it's a great thing to gift to someone only if it's already been assembled I WOULD NOT recommend gifting this to anyone before being put together!! anyone who is easily frustrated with small pieces and long hours of detailed work should not be given this also do not keep this around pets, small children, or adults with tendency to chew small parts or paw or bite things... as these are splintering wood peices and can cause harm!!

For the price not bad. Week or two of work.

This was my first doll house. But I have done a few of the mini room kits and mini house kits. Which I am glad I did becuase it prepared me. There was a guide as to what each piece was and where to find it in the wood section. There where assembly instructions with pictures. The instructions come with some recommendations of painting prior to assemble. Which I'm glad I did.The wood quality I had was really poor so I had to paint it. Even had laminated sheets that were two different colors on the back. The wood has not been primed so it absorbed water causing some warpping. ( making already warped pieces hard to work with or warping none warped pieces). The lamination reacting differently to water based paints was a big culprit in the warping that happened afterward. I used scrap book paper for wall paper to help not use so much paint I couldn't leave the walls unfinished due to wood quality and discoloration. I had the second level floor wood was warped before I painted it. It warped more after I painted one side. Some of the wood had bug damage see picture. Lucky me it was the back not front and it was smaller pieces. I had a lot of splintered wood particularly with the fragile trim work that I had to glue back together. This was while being really careful punching out pieces and using an x-acto knife. I had issues with wood breaking while sanding so I couldn't sand too much. Took me a whole morning just to punch out pieces and sand ( not including the shingles). There were more than enough shingles to cover everything. The instruction recommended Aleccias multipupose glue but this like white glue has a lot of water in it and caused wood to curl. I found beacons 1-3 fast drying better at glueing and reducing warping. Also hot glue gun was great at the shingles and glueing fine trim. I used a elmers spray glue to stick scrap book paper to walls it gives a little bit of wiggle room. Lastly I used modgepodg sealant to seal wallpaper. I should have covered the plastic windows becuase now they are fogged. If your going to add lighting do it while assembling walls its much easier. Also helpful was labling the bottoms side of parts to keep track of what goes where.Time wise a good week plus but you can easily spend a month or more if uou commit an hour or two a night. I lost track of time while working on sections.A lot of the slits/tabs don't fit without modifying. I had to cut tabs and slits to make it fit and due to the wood quality the wood warped. Doing those mini kits really prepared me for this. I would not recommend this as a started. Using the right kind of glue really helps. I would have given it a 4 if there wasn't so much warping of the larger pieces. Also if you looking at making furniture that fits the vendors website (Greenleaf not amazon) has a good assortment of kits that will fit this ratio.
