Portfolio Presentation for Fashion Designers

This book was published in 2010, and the industry has progressed significantly since then. However, the illustration history, devising a customer profile, organizing a portfolio (update that to digital) and journal, and all drawing instruction is relevant to today. Great book for learning to draw flats. If you go to FIT, this book will help as you create boards/presentation for FF111, etc. i enjoy the author's voice and I know I will reference this lively book often.

Wow, this book is so huge. Can be used as textbook, very useful for fashion design students. Also contains big amount of illustrations and can be used as insporation source. The price is a bit too high, but I bought used book and got it in very good condition. Satisfied with this purchase. Thanks to author.

Was a very good book at explaining how to make a good portfolio. I had a class in portfolio development, and I have already had it viewed by prospective employers with great reviews. The book helped me develop my portfolio because it had very good illustrations and explanations.

This books is a "most have" for you.It teaches you how to select your portfolio and organize it according to the kind of market you intent to break into. It starts by detailing the kind of media you can use for the development of your material to the final presentation, and what to expect on your interview.

I am a 5year lead designer, and felt I was out of touch with the presentation of a portfolio when I went to interview. I purchased this book, and ever since have constantly refered to it for all presentation ideas. It is clear and direct while reviewing a broad range of fashion portfolios and what each and any portfolio should accomplish. I love this book!!!

Is a decent text book. It provides the necessary information and tools to develop a professional fashion design portfolio. I will be using it more as time goes on.

I'm not a fashion designer for people. I'm a fashion designer for dolls. But still...

Waaaaay too expensive! Bought it for an online course, got little use of it. The writing is dedicated to young students looking for their first job.

Even though the book is quite expensive, it covers everything you would need for a portfolio. If I'm ever in doubt of how to present for example a spec sheet, the book will give you the answer plus more. Excellent resource and a must have! Theres a lot of similar and cheaper books but they do not cover as much. Worth every penny.

Got it and haven't even looked at it really since. The layout is awful and i thought it would be more about the layout but there is a lot of writing in there about nothing.

Aufgrund des relativ hohen Preises habe ich den Kauf dieses Buches lange überlegt. Die Investition hat sich auf jeden Fall ausgezahlt. Alle wichtigen Themen rund um Portfolios und deren Gestaltung werden in dem Buch behandelt. Es werden viele Hilfreiche Tipps gegeben. Der Inhalt eines Portfolios wird genauso ausführlich beschrieben wie dessen Gestaltung. Ein extra Kaptitel beschäftigt sich noch mit technischen Zeichnungen (manuell oder digital). Die Informationen sind von hoher Qualität und obwohl das Buch in Englisch vorliegt gut verständlich (auch wenn ich das eine oder ander Wort nachschlagen musste). Klare Kaufempfehlung!
