I actually used this to adapt a Balanced XLR +4dbu line out to feed a consumer -10dbv line level input on a PC. Worked great.I did open up the body to take a look at the wiring on the inside. The strain relief is really doing much. So it's not robust. Not a problem for me and my use.But if you truly are using this on a dslr camera. I don't think it will hold up long even with good care before a wire gets twisted back and forth a few times that will end up causing a wire to break loose inside. Buy with some electronically encline individuals. You can fix it.

I am using this in a professional studio. I needed to balance the impedance of my pro mic to the high-impedance input of a Dangerous Monitor ST, which is used for talkback to the studio. The Dangerous Monitor ST has the connector in the front. I needed a cable that would turn back under the rack mounted unit. Many of these transformers are way too long. The door wouldn't close in my cabinet. This one worked perfectly. I have tried it with different types of non-powered MIC's such as the SM57 and it works perfectly. My permanent solution, however, is to connect to a gooseneck powered mic. I had to use a power inserter that would deliver 48v power to the mic and then pass the signal through to this impedance matching transformer and into to the Monitor ST. I used a Behringer MicroPower PS400 to power the mic. Combined all of the systems work perfectly together. Works great for talkback in the studio.

I did a lot of research trying to find out how to connect an XLR microphone to a camcorder with a 3.5mm stereo jack. I even bought a couple of different items. The final answer is this. If you have a dynamic XLR microphone (not a condenser mic that needs phantom power), and a typical consumer camcorder (mine is a Canon HF S200), this adapter is what you need. Of course, you will need an XLR cable (ten or 15 feet is ideal), and then plug this transformer/adapter into the cable and the camera. The result is a much better sound (quiet, and with a $30 microphone, only a little background hiss). No more clunking, buzzing, humming, extraneous noise). Get a better mic with a higher signal-to-noise ratio and you'll probably get a completely quiet signal. There are simple plug adapters available for $9 or $10, and I tried one of those, and it worked, but with additional background hiss. Even with a cheap XLR mic, you'll notice an amazing difference in the audio quality. ANd you can make a cheap shock mounted mic on a boom for just a couple of dollars.

I use this product with an Audio Technica AT803 lavalier microphone.Normally, the AT803 is plugged into my Mackie 802-VLZ3 and uses phantom power. In addition to recording, I also use the microphone for chat on Xbox Live (AUX SEND is connected to a wired Xbox 360 controller with a headset adapter).I needed a way to use this microphone with my Xbox 360 while travelling; a quick search found this item. Using a AA battery for the microphone instead of phantom power, this adapter is connected directly to the AT803's power module, and the other end is connected to the Xbox 360 headset adapter. It works perfectly... sure, a $150 microphone is overkill for Xbox Live chat, but why have a separate microphone if not necessary?Note that I use a Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS 7.1 for game sounds.

This Impedance Transformer is essential when recording from XLR to Stereo 1/8" mic input on a computer. If you try using just a XLR to 1/8" TRS cable which is available if you look, you will get all sorts of noise and distortion. This impedance transformer provides a clean signal to record audio on a computer. I currently use it on 2 systems to record audio coming from a mixer. One system I use Audacity to record audio on a Linux system and the second system I use as a line input into a laptop for video recording.

Tried this attached to the microphone we use through an interface to a PC with home recording software.We attempted to run it into a couple different amps.We could hear the impedance when I would scratch the surface of the mic, but not any voice when spoken or sung.

These are so much better than the transformers without the cable—the solid pieces are too heavy and stick out the side of your pedals in an awkward fashion.

This was purchased to enable an echo effects pedal to be used with a mic as the the mixer didn’t have a send and return.It did the job perfectly and has quickly become an essential part of the gig bag!Although delivery was scheduled for Thursday from the USA after ordering Saturday evening, it arrived on Monday. It seems this item has a consistent problem with loose connections, with my experience being the same as the last reviewer. It worked fine in one position but lost the sound as soon as it was moved. I have sent it back and ordered another, and hope I have more luck with the replacement. It's just what I needed, but the quality control is rubbish.

Indeed it works. very nice levels with a Sennheiser ME66/K6 and a A7S. BUT: the 3.5 TRS connector is a pretty cheap one, poorly isolated, every time the cable moves, some parts touch and break contact, unacceptable quality control. I had to desolder and replace the whole connector. But it works as a transformer, even if the transformer housing in the XLR connector is pretty big.

Il cavo trasformatore funziona e risolve un problema ricorrente: Collegare direttamente in camera un mic direzionale di livello superiore al Rode Videomic Pro o simili. Non si hanno altre alternative se si è da soli e costretti a montare il mic sulla camera. Consigliato per situazioni nelle quali bisogna essere "leggeri"...

Ringrazio per Spedizione veloce ma il cavo non è come decritto visto che non funziona. Capisco che costa dieci euro però credo non sia corretto truffare la gente.
