OKUMAAvenger Graphite Body 7 Ball Bearing Freshwater Spinning Reel

Got this on sale and glad I hit the order button. I ordered the AV-3000 version.Delivery was fast, got it on an overnight deal. Out of the box it was smooth. I held it up and spun the handle, let the handle go and it kept spinning and spinning- very silent and smooth.I loaded it with braid and did not have to add electric tape or anything to the spool. The spool itself has a texture on it and the braid did not slip at all. I just wrapped the line around the reel two times and tied a uni knot, sinched it and loaded it up, no slipping at all. I am using Runcl Merced 12lb braid (4strand) with a fluro leader in the same weight.Loaded the reel, put it on a rod and tied a light weight spinning lure to it to give it a test cast.Thing cast a mile- super smooth casting and super smooth reeling. One thing that did stand out is the sound of the drag. The drag system just sounds nice.The handle is very comfortable and in fact the whole reel just felt like a high quality reel. I have some expensive reels and this one does not disappoint.It is a very nice looking reel, the color is, well, makes it look very high dollar. In fact I have seen some very expensive reels look super cheap with weird colors or horrible finishes, this one is very well made and the finish is perfect. The action is extremly smooth and the casting is amazing (again using 12lb braid) and is on par with my more expensive reels.Super happy with this reel, and if you get this with one of the Amazon coupons you certainly can't beat the price! Cheap reels feel and act cheap, this one was inexpensive but looks and acts like a Rolls Royce.Highly recommend!

Great reel, i love it. I put 15lb mono on it for river striper fishing and it perfect. Ill. Landed a keeper the first time having it. Took it to the ocean and also caught a n3’ needle fish no prob. Buy another soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

UPDATE: I am completely sold on this reel being one of, if not the best ultralight reel money can buy. It's affordable, its incredibly smooth, and the build quality is top notch. Zero issues with this reel pulling in everything from 2oz to 5lb bass on .10mm braid and the line lay and casting is fantastic. 10/10UPDATE 2: Here I am 3 years later compelled to come back and re-review this thing. Still one of the best reels I've used. Line lay is still perfect, still incredibly smooth, and zero issues with the drag. I've used this reel with 0.10mm braid since the start and have had legitimately zero issues with the bail, bail roller, or spool in terms of line lay. Perfect perfect perfect ultralight reel.Line lay with 0.10mm braid has been flawless, as has the drag which has a very linear adjustment.Oddly enough it's not as smooth as I had hoped, but it does have an extra set of gears(including a cool oval one!!) which controls the rise and fall of the spool when reeling, and it's more of a noise than a feel thing.The pictures do not do this reel justice. The stunning silver paintjob has flashes of blue on occasion due to a very slight hint of metallic blue paint specs. It is seriously top notch! The rotor and handle have this paint job as well and its very well done.

I got two of these on sale for roughly $22 each.They’re certainly worth that.Reasonably smooth. Could be better. I haven’t tried the 500s but my Kastking Valiant Eagle Gold 3000 at around roughly the same MSRP is significantly better, so… look elsewhere if they aren’t on sale.Good enough line capacity for the lite weights you’ll be casting. I could probably get more if I lowered the weight from the recommended braid. The information gave the capacity for 15 lb braid, so that’s what I used. I’m sure if you’re just using 2lb fluorocarbon or a 6lb braid with 2lb leader, you might get a bit farther.My biggest gripe is the cumbersome switch of the bail if you just want to start reeling pretty instantly. It requires a bit of effort to switch by reeling. Some of you this won’t be a issue for whether because of the bait you’re using or just you being used to flipping the bail.

Good price smooth retrieve nice drag. Nice weight seems well made going to use for steelhead.

Perfect no nonsense reel made by Okuma. Plenty of drag for anything in the surf. This thing casts extremely well and feels solid. We did have an issue with the handle becoming loose on us just once but that could’ve been my own fault during assembly. It does have some flex at the base like most reels under $100. But this reel is nice and smooth and powerful for the money. My wife and I love it so much that I’m considering tossing my Daiwa Bg for the Okuma 8k

Pulled in 2 spoonbill with it shortly after purchasing. Held up great! Be perfect for the bigger fresh water fish.

I got the 500A it's small and mighty.For the price it's perfect. I'm running 4lb test and have it on a okuma rod it's the perfect bang for your buck combo.. you can feel the quality right out of the box. I actually have 2.
