Flowmaster817846 Outlaw Direct Fit Muffler

The install was super easy. With the right tools, it should take less than 1 hour. Highly recommend investing in the exhaust hanger remover tool. Cuts the time on install down significantly. As for the muffler, be prepared….it’s really loud. I’m still considering going to a gentler muffler as this one is deafening. I also noticed that, despite my instantaneous MPG readings staying the same, my DTE went down by 25 miles within the first few minutes of having it installed. Not sure if that will straighten itself out or not but that shouldn’t happen with better air flow.

This was the sound I was looking for! Install only took 30 minutes, sounds great, no drone, not obnoxious.

To start with, package was delivered in a timely manner and no visible damage to the big box. The inside was well packed no missing parts or scratches. Install time took me about one hour from beginning to starting it up. Only thing I recommend is the exhaust hanger removal tool or I would have finished in 40 min. It’s that easy. Take your one measurement from the back of the factory muffler, mark the line and cut. Once the new muffler is installed and evened up and tightened down at the flange, and exhaust clamp, go to the back and loosen up the exhaust tips and re center and tighten back up. With the factory resonators still installed, it give a good growl for a cold start but not wake up the neighborhood bark. At cruising speeds, you can barley hear the rumble in the cab till you get on it. My mud terrain tires make more road noise then the exhaust. As for the eco mode of running on only 4 cylinders, it’s not noticeable when it kicks in like some say. Still a rumble. Very pleased with the exhaust note and quality of the product and ease of installation.

The Outlaw does not disappoint!I wish I would have purchased sooner for my 2019 Big Horn but glad I have it now.I had it installed (welded) in a local muffler shop by professionals so it wouldn’t drone or leak like I’d read it could do in some DIY installs.Worth the couple hundred dollars spent.This things GROWLS but not to the point of annoyance where I can’t hear my music when I hammer on it, and it doesn’t drown out music while cruising on the freeway.In fact, I’m going to have the shop remove the two upstream factory reducers from each pipe so I can hear it rip a little more because the sound is so dope I want to hear more of it.

My truck is a 2022, this was for a 2019. I was confident that it would fit, but I still measured first before I cut my exhaust. Install was fairly simple, EXCEPT where the tailpipe inlet fits into the muffler exit pipe. Pretty close to the same size, so you may have to fight that a little to get them to fit (the reason for 4 stars). Mounts were correct, bolted up correctly, just follow the instructions and pull up youtube vids for tutorial. NO you dont need exhaust hanger pliers, dont belive that nonsense, I got the OEM muffler out with channel lock pliers, you just have to have a brain and use it. The sound is good, not too quiet and not too loud. Sounds good when driving, and yes if you sit there in park or nuetral and rev it it sounds like clapped out no muffler redneck garbage...so if thats all you plan to do I would advise a different muffler. Overall, Im satisfied, I bought an amazon return due to damaged box, so it was discounted but the product was not damaged and everything was there.

Super easy install took me and a friend about 10 minutes. Adds a nice deep tone but still fairly quite in the cab when putting around. This is a good loudness level for anyone looking for a little grunt without waking the neighbors

The media could not be loaded.  Installed on a 2019 RAM 1500 Limited, 5.7 V8. Easy to install took me and a friend less than 1 hour. Sound is nice I debated between this one and the Flowmaster FX. Going to try this one out for a while to see what I really think of it. It is loud, definitely louder than stock. Worst case you can always put your stock muffler back on just need a pipe to connect where you cut. Cabin noise is about the same until you step on the gas which you will definitely hear inside the cabin. Including a 0-80 inside noise with the windows rolled up.**Update** After 2 weeks of driving city and highway I have to say this is to loud. In the cabin on the highway just gets to me. And on the highway when stepping on it their is an odd smell that enters the cabin and this only happens when pushing the engine. I assume its the black coating wearing in but I just couldn't deal with it any longer. So I put the stock back on, might look at the Flowmaster FX down the road but for now I'm back to stock.

Awesome sound and quality

This product was shipped fast, in good condition, and was an exact fit for my 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Night edition. It took Midas all but 10 minutes to install. Could have done it myself as well. For $30 labour install, might as well let the professionals do it! Very happy with the sound of my exhaust now. Not overpowering, bit providing a nice growl when stepped on!

Sounds good when cruising at highway speeds, not overpowering while at highway speed.Sounds great when putting the throttle down!

The Flowmaster Outlaw Muffler was installed on my 2021 RAM SPORT. Now you can really appreciate the sound of the HEMI. Excellent growl and rumble now. Worth every penny!!
