For the price, it feels like cheating. I could buy 5 sets of these a year no problem. I’ve been throwing the one set I got for about a month now and I am extremely impressed. They have good weight and balance. You can do it all with this blade shape. Classic rotational throwing. No spin throwing is possible, and a very fun technique. Also the beginner tip is perfect to practice flipping the knife in the air and spinning it in your hand without accidentally cutting yourself.Perfectly balanced. However they are not all exactly the same shape, one was shaped with a little more metal on the handle. This isn’t noticeable at all while throwing, just mentionable.They are not the most durable knives. They will nick each other and make small dents when they hit each other at a good speed. But at this price, I’ve decided not to worry about it. The metal being softer isn’t all bad. Any nicks that are made can be filed smooth with a pocket tool file.In conclusion, I could spend some time TRYING to break them and get three more sets to replace them without any regrets. Just a real fantastic purchase for a beginner. Lots of blade space to grab without sharp spots. Good for building confidence in your grips and experimenting.

These are great knives so far.They throw beautifully and stick with a satisfying 'thunk'. The center line is a tiny bit off but this doesn't seem to have any bearing on how they throw. Being more than 10" they are heavy and seem to wear on my arm after awhile, but then I'm used to a smaller knife. I'm sure that I'll build stamina with time. These are very sturdy knives and just 'feel' like they will hold up over time. I've had other more expensive knives that have broken at the handle when they hit the wrong way. I hit the brick wall behind my target with one of these and it didn't hurt it at all. I'll write an update after I've used and abused them for awhile. So far I'm really impressed.May 14, 2016 ***Update****Okay, I'm estimating a few hundred throws with these at this point. They are all still in excellent shape. I've got that brick wall I was telling you about - these knives just don't seem to mind it one bit. No breaks, chips, none gone missing - I've lost a few of my smaller knives just by dropping them, lol. These are easy to spot. I like these for no spin throwing the best. When I spin and am off my mark the bounce back comes scary close. I really thought the heft of a blade this large would shorten the bounce back return compared to my smaller knives, not so. Be careful. A no spin ( spear orientation ) throw will open up your range and yield a deep stick mid-target. Very nice. My arm still wears out faster with these heavy knives, but my boyfriend has no problem at all with them. Great knives.UPDATE: 10/10/2017The knives are still in great shape. I haven't even had to re-grind the points thus far. They are as good as the day I got them despite being the most used knives in our collection. I have had a few knives that cost far more than these break at the points and handles in this same time frame and they are not thrown nearly as much. I've gotten pretty good at a spin throw with these but I still think the no spin is my favorite way to throw them.

One of the better throwers in this price range. Stainless steel material seems to knick and chip a lot from hitting each other w/ tight clusters. Great weight/shape/balance for no-spin.Update after ~few hundred decent throws:The BEST throwers in this price range. Cold Steels chip every day I use them.. I'm literally grinding them daily, Gil Hibbens are wildly overpriced (twice as much) for a similar set and have weird holes that weaken/lighten them and create drag on the hand. I don't throw anything bladed unless I wanna feel cool (lol and pain), so I really like that only the tip is sharp on these. If you focus a lot on no-spin like I do, these are perfect bc of the weight and balance, but I can instinctively throw half-spin, and I can decently gauge a full spin if I'm given enough aim-time w these. When I first reviewed the Szcos, I had little practice/exp w other stainless knives, so I didn't realize there was virtually no difference in steel quality between them, Gils, boker bo-kris, etc., but after a few sets (some much more expensive), these are by far my favorite to throw. I can only hypothesize that stainless is the best material for the $20 price-range. I really feel confidence in my accuracy with these weird-looking things. Nothing else in this range is heavy enough, Nothing prettier throws this good.
