Good pump, good price, does the job.
It works. I've had it installed for a year now, and it continues to work to boost the water pressure in my house. We are on a mountain, well above the municipal water supply line, and had pressure in our house that was generally between 25-40 psi. It annoyed my wife. I considered adding a pressure tank and pump, but used this instead. It took me a few hours to install, and had completely solved the problem. I ensured that we have high strength lines between the pump and pressure regulator to the house just in case the input pressure increases and the boost pump creates what would otherwise be an over-pressure for the house plumbing.I mounted the pump to plywood over 3/4" stryrofoam and bolted down to platform in our basement. That side of the basement is not insulated from the house. I can hear it come on if I listen for it, but it is a background hum, not a problem at all.It does not run continuously, coming on only when we are using the water. There is not an adjustment for the flow-rate sensor, so our low-flow faucet on the kitchen sink was just below the threshhold to trigger the pump. Given that this was where it most annoyed my wife that we had low pressure, I replaced our kitchen faucet with a higher flow model that triggers the pump. The old faucet didn't have the spray power she wanted even with the pump on, so it's possible that if I had replaced the faucet first, I wouldn't have put in the pump. Still, I like the extra pressure in the shower and out of the hose, so totally worth it.

Perfect for my needs!!
We use a rural water system and because we are high on a hill above the main line, we have very little pressure at our house. So when we first built our house, we installed an elaborate system with a pump, pressure tank, and two pressure switches that has worked well for 20 years, although when something goes wrong it's a nightmare to work on. Recently the pump finally died and while looking around for an exact replacement, I came across this pressure booster pump. All the descriptions and reviews made it sound like just what I needed, so I ordered it, and amazingly, it was actually BETTER than what I was replacing. I was able to just cut off the pressure tank and two switches in the system and go with the straight pump, located right next to the water meter...It pushes the water up the hill and boosts it from about 25-30 pounds up to around 70....within seconds of turning on the water, the pump kicks in and the pressure remains steady, unlike my old system where it gradually decreased until the pump would kick on again. It even has a safety shut-off; last week the rural system itself suffered a burned out pump, and for about 3 days we would go from plenty of water to none. This pump automatically shuts down when there is no or little water in the system, which prevents burn-out.Oh, and did I mention, that this was the easiest thing of its type I've ever installed...Believe it or not, all the fittings from the old system fit the new pump perfectly...all I had to do was disconnect the two unions, screw the adapters into the new pump, and then retighten the unions. I was stunned...usually a project like this takes multiple adapters, fittings, trips to the hardware store, and lots of aggravation...I highly recommend this product to ANYONE that has low pressure for whatever the reason....this will fix it!May 23, 2013UPDATE. This pump worked GREAT until....our neighbor drove by our water meter and pump house and noticed water pouring out....he shut off the water at the meter and called me. When we turned it back on, water was shooting out around the flange/seal area...I'm sure one of the seals has blown. Ironically, it is 3 weeks more than a year old! Just out of warranty. I am tempted to order a second one, then fix this one and keep it for a backup....I don't have much choice if I want more than 15-20 pound pressure in my house....reviews on other similar pumps are much worse...Changing to 4 stars

Love this pump!
This pump does exactly what it is suppose to, so far I am very happy with the performance of it. Also, I was happy to see this pump is made in Italy. The pump runs pretty quiet in my opinion, this wasn't an issue for me because I put in a small pump house at the bottom of the hill on my property. My situation was commumity well with about 40 psi at the bottom of my hill and by the time it got to my house I would have 30 psi or 25 psi upstairs. It barely worked, if you took a shower and someone else used the sink you would get burned or frozen with big pressure drops. Plus my sprinklers were impossible to pop up. I hooked everything up with bypass to run off community pressure or to service pump. Plugged it in and viola, I now have about 80 psi at pump house and 70 psi at the house and pry 65 psi upstairs. There is a delay when then the pump kicks on, pry keeps it from burning it up. I can now take a shower and not have to yell, don't flush anymore! I can't even tell when someone else is using the water now. All my sprinklers stations work great. For the price, this is some well deserved satisfaction.

Worked Great, BUT Customer Service
I have had this pump for 2 years exactly, and it went out. Easy to install and worked great for 2 years. I contracted Simer which was very easy to do. Told them the pump was making a horrible noise and leaking. He said he could give me the address to return the pump, and they would replace it. I asked if they paid for the shipment of returning the item, the gentlemen I spoke with said no. I told him I thought this was not fair, on account of they guaranteed their item for three years. He said normally people went to a store and bought this pump, and would be able to return it to the store. I argued with him for a minute then told him I needed a pump, and to give me the return address for the pump. He provided me with the address. I then told him I lived in a rural area and if he could tell me of a dealer in my area, he said sure. I gave him my zip code, and after a few minutes he stated the site was has down and could not check that for me. (??????) There is no dealer close to my area. Sorry to rant, but just so you know if something happens to it and you order from Amazon you have to pay to return it.
