Cute little trunk!
I just love this little trunk. Great quality and sturdy! I use it for thread, scissors, sewing needles. I keep it near my sewing machine and it is a great place for small things (like what I use it for) and at the same time just looks cute sitting there!

Very pretty
I made a charging station for my sister who travels a lot. I drilled a hole in the back and a few in the front for cables to slide through. I put a travel surge protector w/ USB slots so 5 devices can be plugged in. She loves it and so does everyone who comes over. This box is also very nice on it's own (it's smaller than a tissue box for reference).

the craftsmanship on mine (and perhaps it varies from one to the other) is quite good. But the bottom is paper thin.
Well I have to say, I was concerned about the quality of this item when I purchased it. Upon receiving the box, I was mostly pleasantly surprised by the quality and craftsmanship, yet with a few exceptions regarding the thickness of the materials used to craft the box in some places. First, the craftsmanship on mine (and perhaps it varies from one to the other) is quite good. There are no sharp staples or nails sticking out anywhere, and the corners are aligned properly. My only issue is that the BOTTOM of the box (and the top as well, which I don't mind as much) is made of nearly paper thin wood. While the sides of the box are reasonably thick (1/3 inch) but very light material, the bottom of the box is 1/16 of an inch(!!!!). The top layer is also 1/16" but that matters less since the weight of items in the box only rests at the bottom. It doesn't make sense why such light material would be used at the bottom - however I intend to reinforce it by gluing or stapling another layer of wood, or cork, or whatever I can find at the craft store, at the bottom. Then it will be a perfectly lovely box, keeping in mind it's also supposed to look "old world."The size description is accurate - but beware that the inside is smaller, which I guess should be expected. Only maximum outside measurements are given (so look at the base, which is the widest - that's where it's actually 9 inches). The inside is smaller, which I assumed upon purchase but couldn't judge exactly from the description. What I wanted to put in it was too large, but I take responsibility for my careless measuring. It just bothered me more that the bottom of the box was so thin it might not have been appropriate to hold the item year after year as I intended. I mean, really. It's perfectly intact, but it's so thin, it makes the sound of paper or cardboard when you tap it.......I have to say, though, I am leaning toward keeping it. I guess I could have expected this to cost about $20. It's a high cost considering the quality of some materials (mainly referring to the thickness of the bottom, though the latch is "light to medium duty" as well) - but that's made up for in craftsmanship and appearance for the most part. I mean, it's 20 bucks. Would it be $15 at Marshalls or some equivalent store? Perhaps. But I like it and think it's cute. Hope this helps someone!

Nice looking and practical!
I bought this as an additional chest for my husband to store his small things instead of strewing them about the coffee table. It's masculine enough for him and tasteful enough for me, and we also have an organized coffee table.

It looks nice but...
This is chipwood so in my opinion pricey for what you get. It does have a nice look and size wise think tissue box but a tiny bit taller about an inch or so shorter in width. I have it with pens, crochet hooks, medications laying on their sides, reading glasses, earbuds, Iphones, keys those sorts of things all fit so it is nice size to help "clean up" your area. I use it on my end table. I would say for the most part it is not long enough for tv, dvd remotes.

Like the scalloped bottom & suitcase look
Very cute deco trunk-needed it for hubbys stuff in the bedroom. About medium size which is fine-my other is larger, so it works well. Like the scalloped bottom & suitcase look. Happy with purchase

Not the same color
The map you see in the picture is a beige(light) color what i got is dark brown color of the map on top. So if you are looking to decorate and match some colors FYI. Its brown all over. Its over priced for the quality and i cant really use it the way i planned it on my entry cabinet.
