CRAFTSMAN CMMT98279 CRFT SERPENTINE BELT TOOL KIT

Always had vehicles that I could get by with a normal socket and cheater bar ... until helping my B.I.L. with a Honda Accord. After 30 minutes and a broken ratchet, I found this gem on Amazon. Was leery at first because it looks very similar to some cheaper versions (some locally available HFT), but took a chance.This worked amazingly well, and EASILY! Almost like it was designed for the job ... hah! Belt was on in less than a minute.B.I.L. tried to pay me for the tool ... I told him to get his own!

Worked great. The short piece fit the belt tensioner well. The long handle was too long for the space I had under the vehicle. I used a 3/8" drive ratchet which fit well and did the job. If I would have jacked the van up higher the long handle would have probably fit better. Someday, I will need the extra leverage with the long handle.

It's really good quality, there are some chips and dents a little but other than that. It seems real durable and amazing quality. Overall a good product 👍

Slim and does what it’s supposed to do, fan belt

This tool is sturdy and long enough to provide the necessary force to compress a belt tensioner. I have deducted one, and only one, star because of its limited usefulness in tight spaces like my engine compartment, where the socket must be positioned exactly right to provide enough range of motion to fully compress the tensioner. Without a ratchet function, that is impossible. But as this was clearly designed without a ratchet feature, one can't really complain about it too much.

Very handy tool and helped change out a serpentine belt and 2 alternators.

Really saves space to get that s-belt off. My 2007 f150 doesn’t have much room at all to get a rachet down to the tensioner pulley, but this tool makes it a breeze!

Some vehicles require specific tools to get the job done. Nice to have when needed. Lifetime guaranteed, sturdy useful tool.

I normally used a ratchet with a pipe on the handle but figured I would try this. The tool is sturdy, well made and comes with 1/4 or a 1/2 extension. It works well but just bare in mind that because it is not a ratchet you can't decide where to set the start position. You have to make sure that there is enough travel space from where you initially put the tool so that you can push it far enough to get enough slack to remove the belt. The fact that it is thin also helps it slide in pretty much anywhere. All in all good tool.
