FINALLY...A GREAT INEXPENSIVE ACOUSTIC BASS
So UPS delivered this to me earlier today.I've been looking for an acoustic bass for a couple of years now.But usually the cheap ones suck, and the really good ones are ridiculously expensive. So I've been doing my research, and finally came across this one. I know it came out not that long ago.I must say I'm not a fan of Ibanez acoustic basses or guitars. My experience with them has been poor. Tone and feel wise. But this one has left me in awe. I think the mahogany and not having the thick gloss finish helps so much. It sounds so warm. Not so much of the string screeching sound, which is always an issue with acoustic basses. Right out of the box it was amazing. You can even slap/pluck.And don't get me started on plugging it in. The sound is so....The only way I can explain it is by calling the tone yummy. I've seen some reviews about the pickup now working well. I guess they received a bad one, because this one is superb. Btw a tip on how to really get a great sound on the onboard EQ...Bass at 9 or 10 o'clock, Treble at 11 or 12 o'clock, Volume at what may be best for the situation.Oh btw I've also seen bad things about the built-in tuner. Mine works perfectly.Over all I basically love this thing. It's not the best, but for this price, it's perfect. I don't regret it, and am a very satisfied customer. And dare I say it feels and sounds better than most acoustic basses I've played over the years, by some top brands in the $1,000.00 and over range. So if you are in the market for an inexpensive awesome acoustic bass...I highly recommend this :)P.S. It came with a 9V battery already installed, and they even give you an Allen's wrench for the truss rod, and an extra saddle for the bridge. How Awesome is that? Talk about great useful treats for your customers. Kudos to Ibanez.

It's just fun to play!
I have been playing bass as a hobby for about fifty years, so while this is directed to beginners, it hardly needs to be limited to their use. I have two electric bases and decided it would be fun to have a bass that would produce audible sound without amplification. This came up offered at a good price, and I decided to try it. I have enjoyed it a lot. It feels good in hand. It is well intonated. It has a reasonable tone. It is simple in appearance but does not look cheap by any means. I think it would be great for a beginner, even if your primary play will be electric, just to have a reasonably inexpensive instrument at hand that you could pick up and use for practice without being bothered with plugging in.

This lovely Bass has been my best friend for many years now
This is just a review to say that I absolutely love this bass guitar. It was gift and it has propelled me and kept me creating every time I pick it up. Great sound, great range, the highs and the lows. You can play it with a pick or fingered and you will definitely find it comfortable. The color of the wood and grain as your run hand across it when you are too tired to play has the memory of the wood. This isn't really a review it's just my love letter to this bass to let everyone know it is an insane price for this quality.

Warped fretboard, buzzy, junk
Guitar looks incredible- but that’s it. It’s nothing more than wall art. I don’t blame Ibanez either, I blame whoever was storing it between the date of manufacture and date of shipment and/or the shipping company. The neck is warped resulting in incredibly buzzy notes toward the tuning end of the fretboard. I brought it to Guitar Center to have it straightened/repaired, they laughed and stated that’s a hopeless dream- it’s wrecked. So it looks great on my wall while I play the exact same guitar I bought in-store to replace it. Note to all that are interested: this bass is great, but DO NOT I repeat DDOO NNOOTT!!!!!!! buy it through Amazon. Go to your local guitar shop and play it before you pay to make sure it’s in acceptable condition.

Great bass! Longer than product description
Great acoustic bass! I haven't played it plugged in yet, mostly because I'm just having so much fun playing it unplugged. I bought this because I wanted an acoustic bass for camping and playing on the porch or the street corner. Great price point for my needs. At $250 it's not a major investment and thus I feel good taking it camping or street minstreling but it still sounds great. It definitely has that upright bass sound to it, which is awesome. The fretboard is a little wide and chonky. It reminds me of playing my Rickenbacker as far as thickness of the fretboard.I did knock off one star because the Amazon page listed the bass as being 40 inches long and I bought a case to go with it based on that. I put the cart before the horse because in reality the bass is about 45 inches long. It's a shame too! I liked the case I had found for it. If I wasn't having so much fun playing the bass I would have sent the bass back and bought a different one to fit the case. But I guess I'll just have to send the case back instead.

Great Bass!
This is not my first acoustic bass, but this will likely be my last... it's a keeper!Easy to play and has a nice deep woody tone. Sounds better than expected plugged in, too! I rolled off the treble to about half. And put the bass at about three quarters and it keeps the acoustic tone without too much string and finger noise. The tuner works great too! Feels like about a 32" scale - so not quite short scale, but not full scale either. Guitar players shouldn't have too much trouble adjusting, and neither will bassists. Fit and finish is good, but not great, but then you're only paying $250! Well worth it, IMHO! About the only negative thing was the FedEx shipping - they couldn't find my address - but even after waiting several days to get it sorted out, I still got it, undamaged and still a couple of days early! Quit thinking about it and just buy it already!!
