Umpqua Overlook 500 ZS2 Chest/Pack Kit

Great product. Love the zero sweep and the way it contours to my body. I have the fishpond chestpack too and really like it and have used it for well over a year. But have to say I’m a converted chestpacker to this Umpqua. Back net holder performs much better and the extra back storage really helps hold my extra Korker soles and rain jacket with a lot of room to spare. Larger main storage on the front of the pack is better than the FP. I still like FP’s magnetic closure for easy, quick access and holding bugs, but the Umpqua has an overall better fit. Also the Umpqua has much better and more convenient connections points for tools. Both are great products but the Umpqua for me edges past the FP.

Bought this setup to replace my previous vest-pack. When I fish, I tend to be out on the river most of the day. I need space for all of my gear as well as water, rain jacket, lunch, etc. I'm pleased to say this pack fulfils these requirements and then some. It's a solid piece of kit, feels like it should hold up for a while.There's plenty of room in the chest pack for 3-4 large fly boxes and all the fixins, tippet, leaders, flotant, etc. The tippet holder at the bottom seems a little wonky though. You can't really see it while wearing the pack. The removable back pack has a nice hanging point and hose slot for a water bladder and can fit a few more items besides.The one thing I can't seem to figure out is the net slot on the back pack. I have a "traditional" short handled net, and although it sits in the slot fine I just can't seem to grab it easily when I need it. I feel like a long handled guide-style net might be better suited for this pack. This could be a me problem though, with some adjustments and practice I might be able to figure it out.Overall great product, I hope this is the last pack I buy for a while.

If the operators on Seal Team 6/DEVGRU were evaluating a fly fishing chest pack, they no doubt would choose this pack. Kudos to Umpqua for obviously doing your research & listening to clients & engineers . . . This makes the fly fishing vest obsolete. The included add on pack allows you to plan a long day far from the car or strap on the mesh back for short hikes . . . So many features I haven't figured out all of them yet. Home Run Umpqua . . .

Umpqua hit it out of the park! This pack does everything! It's very comfortable (my number one priority), holds the essentials (and more if you want), and is adaptable. The included add-on backpack is brilliant, if you need the additional storage for a long day on the river, but you can remove it and leave it on the bank if you like. Exceeds my expectations. Ergonomic genius!

I have used vest style packs for 35 years... I decided to try this and I'm not disappointed! I researched other packs and this has everything you could want... Others reviews found this difficult to walk around boulders because the front of the pack sticks out a little... If you are big in the belly then this is correct. You would have to move this a little to the left or right to see what's in front of you.. Great space, great value and very comfortable packs... But it ... you will not be disappointed.

Look no further, this is the best fishing pack around. Amazingly comfortable, enough space for everything you need and then a back pack add on if you need more. I’ve had vests and sling packs but I will never go back after experiencing this chest pack. It is light weight, durable and holds everything I need.

Love the pack. Larger than I expected but I can wait to get my junk in it.

Love this pack. Most comfortable chest pack I have owned. I fly fish year round and this fits every outing and every trip, whether I am out for a hour or several days.
