I think the people who answered No to the question of not being edible is not well informed of frankincense. Frankincense goes back to biblical times and has been used medicinally for centuries. Do your research. I have used Frontier Herbs for years and use this particular frankincense as well. You can chew as gum , as a tea or grind as a powder. This is how prepare my frankincense. I take some tears and freeze for a few hours in the freezer. Then grind them in coffee grinder or heavy duty blender into a fine powder. I mix this in my smoothies. Hope this helps! I love frankincense and the many health benefits that go along with it

Yes, the papyrifera is much cheaper (it's often sourced from Ethiopia, in case you're trying to guess the type from its origin). Papyrifera is generally considered quite inferior, so it's sad to see a supplier drop its standards this much.
